Will post specs if needed. So, I downloaded AOS today. Joined a server and suddenly, once the map is done loading, I have this seizure-inducing black flashing on the right side of my screen. While I can still technically play through this, it's very annoying at times. Can anyone help? |

Anyone? |

Try alt+tabbing out of AoS then going back in, and see if that does anything. |

No dice. I also get hilariously low FPS. Will post specs. GeForce 450GTS Athlon AMD 3200+ ~2.0GHZ 2 GB ram Should I be worried that I can recite my PC's specs off the top of my head? |

Reinstalling game now, probably won't work but you never know. Did not work. Now I have a headache.. D: |

Your specs aren't that bad. Is that an integrated chipset card? |
#45908 Kaede-chan (かえでーちゃん) Imageboard Moderator Posted 13 years ago |
I didn't even know that card came as an integrated card... So no, it isn't. |
#45915 Bran34 Member Posted 13 years ago |
My integrated card was a GeForce 450 something, I don't remember. It was pretty bad though. |

No, THIS is my card. Let me rephrase: Not my EXACT card, I have an older model, but i'm fairly certain that this card has the same specs. Edit: Now that I think of it... Gonna go update my drivers. That might be the issue. |

Well, I really don't know jack about hardware, to be quite honest. I bought a video card for 90 bucks because I thought it'd get the job done, mainly so I could actually play WoW in Northrend and not have it be a slideshow instead of a game. It worked. It's a GeForce 9500GT with 1GB Video Memory. I dunno if that's really good or not. |

That should be an OK card. You should be able to run most games out nowadays. It's pretty sad on blizzard's part that you can get low FPS on a game that's nearly 7 years old. Anyways, i'm the one asking for help here, not you XD |
#45926 Bran34 Member Posted 13 years ago |
It's mainly because WoW is more CPU intensive than it is GPU intensive. I had to also buy a new power supply for the card to thrive. My CPU is rather weak, only an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ 2.44Ghz, nothing fancy like i7 bazillion-core supernanomachine that can run Crysis on max settings with 120 fps. Nah, just modded Oblivion on max settings with like 30-40 fps. |

Ergh. Updating my graphics drivers is just so annoying it's silly... And that's when I realised I only had 7 MB of space left on my windows drive.... which explained a lot. Also, your CPU is better than mine. |
#45931 Bran34 Member Posted 13 years ago |
Yeah I need a new hard drive, I've only got 30gb left on mine, and I uninstalled and cleaned up a LOT of crap. I was down to like 8gb at one point, and whenever I downloaded anything, I would hear it beep at me like, "Bitch, take some of this load off me, please! You're killing me with your 10,000 ROMS!" I've got 3GB ram and am running windows vista. :S But I disabled a LOT of garbage that hogs memory in vista, so it actually runs more like XP or 7, imo. |

Yeah, my harddrive would have a good bit more space, but during the installation of W7 I had to partition it rather oddly... So I have about 30 GB total freespace, but it's in all different places. |

Ewww. The only thing keeping me from just up and re-formatting my whole drive is the fact that I really don't want to have to re-download WoW. I don't even know how that would work, I only have the CDs for Vanilla and BC. I bought WoTLK as an internet transaction. I'd probably have to call customer support or something, screw that. And I'm not re-buying everything all over again if I ever decide to start playing WoW again. I don't have Cata so it's like... blah. I'd need like 70 bucks just to start playing again, lol. |

Yeah. That's why my wow is cooped up in it's box all the time now... I uninstalled it because my subscription ran out and I never bothered to renew or reinstall... Plus it's a huge pain to patch and it takes FOREVER to do. Also, After about a half-hour of fiddling I finally updated the drivers. Problem is fixed. I CAN NOW PLAY AOS AND NOT HAVE AN EPILIPTIC SEIZURE, EVEN THOUGH I DON'T EVEN HAVE EPILEPSY. |

#60191 Chaos_BR Brazilian Atheist Posted 13 years ago |
^He updated the drivers, deleting stuff doesn't help crap. |
#63344 Finshades Sniper Posted 13 years ago |
I fixed this by simply changing my nvidia driver settings to 'application controlled' antialiasing. It was set on 'override game settings'. No driver change or reinstall was required. If you can just make a new profile in your nvidia control panel for Ace of Spaces with the above mentioned settings. Hope this helps. |
