I do not like fog. instead of fog, they should give you a choice between grenades and smoke grenades. on the outside of the map is where the fog should be. it should start getting a little foggy near the end, but then a THICK fog to where you cant see anything.

If I remember correctly, fog is there because not everybody has a super high end computer that can have the entire map rendered at all times. That's why fog is there. It's the render limit so your computer doesn't lag itself to death.

Or are you just pissed that you can see the other side of the map when near the edges?

What? A high end PC would be necessary if one wanted to have large portions of the map rendered at one time. It has nothing to do with the map repeating itself.

i like the fog, i think it looks cool. i wish there was more weather effects in the game, like snow and rain. and tornados. this is starting to sound like sim city.

I actually agree. I hate it when I have an enemy in my sights and then they back up slightly back into the fog. I propose that instead of getting rid of the fog all together, we make a compromise; the area directly down the sights of the rifle (when you are looking down them) is focused in, while the areas around the sights remain fogged.

I hate fog in games. I'm outside, I should be able to see for 10s of miles on a clear day. But if you take away fog in AoS then there's consequences.

-Nowhere to hide: The map would have to be minecraft-sized to keep from getting spawn camped from a sniper tower in the enemy base

-Your computer would have to be so fast: The fog hides a short render radius of 128 blocks, which makes the game faster I think? (I don't know much about computers)

-Black sky: without fog the sky would be black and depressing, since there's no sky box.

If there was no fog, there would be problems..
The fog puts a nicer look to the edge of rendering, without it the edges would look nasty.
If you mean that we can see a great distance, that would make rendering really slow and very laggy - which for an FPS is not a great thing.
Also, a camper with a good aim could position themselves anywhere on the map and snipe from afar, which could be pretty annoying.
I can see why people don't like the fog, but realistically, it must be kept.
