people say they don't want to be seen when they kill someone when they're camping :D |
#48773 PineApples The PineApples Posted 13 years ago |
I agree with PineApples, if there was a killcam then there would be a lot less snipers and much more chargers. |

The problem is that many snipers, once set up, either stick in the same place (as movement attracts attention) or they have to dig to a new location. Besides, one of the interesting things about this game is the tension of sniper battles, the cat and mouse chase of following tracers and seeing who goes down first. |

I would rather have the camera fall in the general direction of the person who killed you. The sniper wouldn't be completely screwed and you would know a bit more about his location. |
#48798 Pvt Ryan Gold Member Posted 13 years ago |
@Pvt Ryan, how about when you get shot a kill cam in 3rd person , looking at you, the yellow bullet comes at you, the sniper wont be THAT screwed but, you will know where the shot came from mostly? how about that? |
#48817 KomradeGeneral General Posted 13 years ago |
If the sniper was in a building or tunnel the 3rd person camera might get stuck in a block. I was thinking that if the sniper shot at someone else while you are respawning, you would know their position instantly. |

You can spot enemies easily if they are not hidding why would you need a kill cam? Most of the time you can see the tracer of the enemy bullet when you get killed. I often give out my camping coordinates quite easily. Because if the victim didn't see you, other people will see me for sure. Basically im against this idea. |

The map should mark the general location of your killer. |
#48827 Spengbab Moron Posted 13 years ago |
the current death cam is perfect, it reveals plenty kill cams that always show you the exact location of your killer take away the fun of figuring it out on your own |

Camping is a tactic in this game. Also, when you die, you still shouldnt be able to see, which is really annoying because i kill someone but they can still see when they die and they come right to me. |

I'm also opposed to the idea of a killcam. Soldiers coming into battle don't have some sort of mystic ability to know exactly where the enemies that killed the soldiers who went before them are... they have to find that out using practical methods (capping the intel, or just spotting them, in AoS). Oh, and even without killcam a sniper shouldn't always be in the same spot. Before the rifle-nerfing 0.54 update I was more of a marksman... I made my kills mostly through long-range shots, but I advanced as well, always moving up to the next cover, never being in the same place twice. Not only will moving around a bit save you from getting ganged up on and slaughtered, it also means you can keep moving up to the intel. Even if you are a full-blown sniper, make bunkers with multiple hard-to-see windows (make all interior walls visible through the windows match the outside terrain), and never stay in the same window. If the same head keeps coming up in the same place, you can bet somebody will camp with their crosshairs on that place until you pop up, and then you're dead. |

Ive just solved everyones problem! NO KILL CAM! But there can be some sort of damage indicator when you get hit so that way you can tell where the shot is coming from?? :) Unless your headshot which most snipers should be aiming for anyway so you dont give out your position |

this is something I though of in the first hour of playing, but then I became a mature adult and player and stopped whining. This idea is so blatently stolen from COD, and unnecassary in this game. 9/10 times you get killed from in front of you, via a gun fight. If you're being spawn camped and cant follow the tracer, you obviously deserve to die. Now, even with the shite accuacy of the rifle there are a lot more misses from campers, so just follow the tracer you boob. tl;dr NO |

Nowa90 your post says otherwise about your "maturity" |

i think a 3rd person kill cam that shows only you would be pretty cool and wouldn't expose campers |
#49337 MegaDwarf I'm not that mean Posted 13 years ago |
i dont think we really need a kill-cam, it might be cool, but it is not really needed. |
#49454 Priok Spectonaut Posted 13 years ago |
I think this in an okay suggestion. Rather it not be a regular kill cam, but rather just zoom in for a few seconds to the player who fired the shot that killed you. |

Campers suck. They have no skill. Nuff said. |
#49457 [NN]LeroyJenkin chicken wings Posted 13 years ago |
No. This would ruin sniping. |
