All I need is someone who is willing to make a server for the Churchill Clan, in return you will be given an admin pass to that server (it will be powered by psyspades). |

There are two people in your clan, including yourself. |

Your clan happens to have the same name as my longboard company. Kudos ^^ lol OP, i am seriously considering hosting a server for my clan. Not pyspades though, and i still havent researched it seriously. I will use this thread to ask. Do i need a VPS to host a aos server? Or if i have near 100% uptime with my computer and a good connection will i be able to host it locally. (My computers been running for around 5 years consecutively only being turned off on occasion or for reformats) |

Thanks KC, specifically for not posting the 'let me google that for you' link. That would be hard to resist. You contribute alot around here. |

I do try, as long as people aren't completely retarded in their post.
This forum is making me cynical, however. Futhermore, I'd have probably helped explain the whole port-forward process in an in-depth post, if I was a better wizard. I forwarded my ports correctly and can get my server listed on the server list, but nobody is able to play on it except me, for some reason. So I don't think I'd do anybody any justice explaining it. I must be cursed. |

If your having troubles with the port forwarding process depending on what your server is for. In desperate times you could use hamachi. For example if you wanted a server to play with clan members and they dont mind installing hamachi then that would work. I will try to get a server up soon and see how it goes. Im REALLY interested in the minecraft to AOS map forwarder. |

I know how to make a server but unfortunately my location is very far away from most AOS players which would cause them to immediately start topics about its connection(that happened to me on another game). |

Winston, your best bet is to buy a VPS. You can rack one with way more then enough power for an AOS server for about 5 bucks with 100% uptime and perfect connections to everyone. Thats your best bet. |

With regard to VPS servers, take a look at the bandwidth allowance. A full 32 player server would use something like 1-1.25TB of bandwidth a month if entirely occupied all month. Also check their connectivity as I understand that the server can peak at a couple of sustained mbps. http://www.lowendbox.com usually has a load of offers for VPS servers. And and in regard to the OP, I think its a bit cheeky to offer as a reward administration rights on a server they've created and run! :-) Dont you think if they wanted to they could just create their own? :) |

OP reminds me of the people who go onto art boards and their first post is "Hey if you could do me a favor and spend a ton of your time to sketch me out a tattoo for free that would be super cool, in return tits" |
