I don't want to start anything here, but I was just wondering why it seems that some of your members don't actually contribute to the well-being of the community, and instead sometimes resort to posting off-topic, sarcastic remarks about the OP etc. etc?

For instance, in this thread, the only person who was actually helpful was Devas (which I find completely ironic, considering his reputation, and the fact that this group dislikes him). I could also use numerous other examples of how un-helpful some of you can be at times by linking you to different clan threads, but I think you understand.

This group is good, I really like the idea of a bunch of people that want to focus on contributing to the well-being of the community. But so far I haven't noticed much of that. Shouldn't this group be contributing helpful posts no matter what? If you don't agree with something, or if you think the OP's spelling is horrible or whatever, you should simply help them out anyways, or ignore it.

Sarcasm, but not trolling. You'd do well to differentiate the two. We use it in a forum-friendly and humorous way.

Well, as everybody knows, sarcasm doesn't translate well via the internet. Especially when it's as overused as it is here.
It would be good to shy away from that, more so when dealing with new members. That's just a suggestion though, because I know new members and younger people will have a harder time understanding the sarcasm, and will be put off from being part of the community because of it.

You've gotten me curious Kanye. Besides some off center comments here and there, I don't understand what you mean.

I've given more than my share of assistance around here. On top of that, I've released 4 mods for the game and even acted as an admin for Enari on the Minit server for a while.

I'm not attacking you lol, just curious.

Yeah, I understand, that's why I said "some of your members" in the initial post, maybe I should have made it clearer that I wasn't referring to all of you (I just didn't want to list specific names and have those people feel like I was focusing on only them), sorry for the confusion :P

I help others as much as I can bare, but sometimes, the strain of stupid questions breaks me. Like people who don't read the wiki or even the read-me before posting a question. It's like... go die.

That's good, I'm glad you guys are helping out. I just felt like pointing out how the way a few of you tend to handle threads and posts that aren't up to your standards can be not so helpful, and if you're in a group that has "To contribute to the well-being of the community" as it's tag-line, it just shouldn't happen.
Nothing personal though, you're all good people in my books.

I like your choice of reading then

I usually try to contribute something after I give a snide remark, and don't post at all if I have nothing to give.

@Spaz, that guy is obviously a troll though, so it's fine to say shit like that to it.

I was originally referring to this post http://ace-spades.com/forums/topic.php?id=4299
Where the guy is obviously not a troll, he's probably either a kid or somebody who doesn't speak English too well.

Uninstalling it isn't a good enough answer?

I mean, common sense suggests that if you want it off your computer, you uninstall it, assuming you know how, which wasn't specified.

Telling him to uninstall it was fine, I'm just talking about Kaede and qɐqbuǝds's posts in that certain example.

Well, I didn't understand his first post. After trying to clarify, Devas gave the answer I would've given should he had said that he wanted to remove all traces of AoS from his system. Sure, lulzy comments aren't really necessary, but cmon. We may contribute to the community, be we're not total stiffs. Don't assume we're uptight librarians. Some us may be dicks sometimes, but really, you'd be a dick too if you had to remind the forum goers constantly to post in the proper section, correct their spelling, stop bickering over Call of Duty, etc. Hell, the mods are a bit too lenient with stuff like that. Just "wrong section", and a slap on the wrist. I'm generally a nice guy, and Kaede knows that as well, but when almost 1/4th of the forum is either a moron or a troll, someone's bound to get annoyed.

But I understand where you're coming from. Lately, my posts have been a bit too lulzy, or a bit too angry, and I'll try to cut down on that.

Edit: You know, after reading the entire thread again, some of those comments... :|

Aww yeah. Had a 6 pack of Newcastle Brown Ale last night, shit was so cash.

But still not really worth the 9 bucks, as it was a weak buzz followed 5 hours later by a slight headache.
