Ive tried everything on the wiki and stuff but i still get a error saying im not allowed to edit the config. file.

what you need to do is right click the file
into properties
security
edit
select your user name to allow your user if your not the admin to allow everything

click apply ok and then close that it should then let you change your name

It still said access denied

I'm guessing you installed Ace of Spades in the default directory:

C:\Program Files\Ace of Spades

When you first started the application, a dialog should have appeared asking you to select the installation folder, did you properly set this?

I don't think so, let me try to reinstall it.

To change your name you can either open it as an administrator of the commuter or the following;

Go to the Ace of Spades directory.
Right click properties on the Config.inc
Permissions
Click your username.
enable WRITE.

Then change the config and save.

Alternatively (and that's what I do)

Go into the AoS directory

Copy (or move) the .ini file to Desktop.

Once in desktop, edit and save it.

Then, paste it back to the directory (select the overwrite option obviously).

i tried that but when i try to overwrite it it said im not allowed, and im the admin on my laptop btw

Save the file somewhere else, move it back to AoS, and replace the previous config file.
