I think a rank system would be amazing for AoS. It could have like 50 lvls and at the bottom of the screen in game you could have a progress bar to show you how close you are to leveling up. Also I think you should add perks because then there are some other things to depend on rather than how good you are a shooting. Perks like sleigh of hand, steady aim (less recoil), rapid fire and ghost which would allow you to be about 50% transparent.

I like the idea of leaderboards, where it says how many headshots you've got, how many times youve killed with the semi/smg/shotgun but don't add deaths into the scenario unless its completely personal. Although it'd take a registration system, which we all want.

Seriously, I think that the idea is to give the player something to reach for.
Think about it: you spawn, choose a weapon, go to the battle field kill some some people, die (unleas you are a camper, a good player or an AFK person) and then respawn again and it continuous in a never ending cycle. Sure, you can build something (wich will usually be destroyed by an enemy or a griefer after like 15 minutes) or capture the intel (but whats the point anyway?). The fact is inevadable, from the first second of playing the game to the last the game stays the same (not that im not gratefull to the creator, but till now the only big updates to the game where 2 guns which are almost useless with the gigantic amount of snipers).
So the fact is that perks can actualy give you a reward for all the times you captured the intel or the hundred (or even fousends in some cases like mine) of soldiers that you have killed for nothing.
NOTE: look at the perks in Fallout (not only are they awesome, but even better: THEIR NOT COD PERKS you COD haters).
Gun mods can also be considered as perks.
and if both of those are too gay for you, atleast doc somekind of passive and useless ranks that would show to the world that you have killed 1000ns of noobs and thouse now you are a cool person and you are to be called called The Junior Noob Bain so that the whole world will have a sertification that you are not a noob (or that your atleast a veteran noob).

I find it amazing about the amount of people who think everything in CoD is bad. Most likely because I'm guessing over half the people who have EVER played Call of Duty have only played Black Ops and most other people have only played with the IW engine. According to other people (this and the first EVER CoD are the only ones I have never actually played... actually I played the demo of this) Call of Duty 2 was the best EVER Call of Duty game, only surpassed by Call of Duty 4. To all the people who hate Call of Duty, DO SOME RESEARCH.

I have played the original COD, COD big red one, cod 4,5,6 and black ops for a few minutes. its not COD we hate, its the people who play(ed) multiplayer and want that shit here

I think all the things in the first post are good ideas, but I don't think would quite fit the game. They work well in Call of Duty, but I don't think they would in this. I also think you should get some traits after getting a certain amount of points such as slightly increased health and higher rate of fire, but only marginally so as not to make it unfair. I also agree with a registration system and have constantly asked whether this game is going to become a full .exe. I think the registration should work with the forums so if the game does ever become not free, all of the people who had an account on the forums (most people who play the game) before a certain date get it free for supporting the game during development.

I just think that the amount of people who say 'COD IS SHIT I HOPE TREYARCH BLOW UP OMG IT'S SO FUCKING SHIT' who don't know who Infinity Ward are and/or have never played a single other CoD game other than Black Ops and/or don't know that there are other Call of Duty games is amazing.
I think Black Ops is a good game. I hate the multiplayer but the story is one of the best (the Modern Warfare story has been going on for longer so I find it better) and I love the Zombie mode.

Like I said, there could just be small traits. Like for instance, the ability to walk a little faster or reload quicker. Just small things, not things that make a massive difference to gameplay.
