I don't remember exactly, but the earliest version I have on my computer is 0.33, so it'll probably be that. My cousin showed it to me. After a while (I think version .42), there were certain updates (auto climbing, shitty maps, too easy to kill people) which I disliked so much I stopped playing. This game appeared so good to me before, that features like that made it seem like absolute shit. Around two months later, I saw that there was a machine gun added in. I decided to give it a shot again, and it's still a fun game, but nowhere near as fun as it was before version .4. I also lurked a little and came back to find some of the best forumities here have been banned or they don't post any more. Oh well.
