If I was asked what ONE thing would be most likely to annoy and scare away new players, it'd be the fact that you have to go into your directory to change your name from Deuce. When you run the game for the first time there should be a little text box where you can enter your name.

Here's what the pseudocode that would read and then rewrite the config file would look like:

If name==Deuce and times_played==0
prompt name
times_played=times_played+1

So, I think spadille already does something like this, but new players won't know about that, so it needs to be implemented into the standard game.
