Yea, accounts are a pain in the ass. But we need them for the exact same reason we have accounts on the forums. TO STOP ASSHOLES.

King Arthur gold does this, and the griefers dont last very long, if proper actions are taken to ban them.

Michael learned his lesson from Soldat I guess. Hackers and griefers have dominated the game so much that it is impossible to find populated servers. Everything is bots, and stupid "ZOMG! KNifes ONLY!!" or Zombie servers.

Should make it an option for servers. That way people wont complain too much.

Accounts would also make it easier to track stats, and make it harder to cheat on your stats.

Could be an unconditional ban list too so people who constantly ruin peoples fun are not able to play, or even run their own server. would be nice if it also made so they could not post in the forums, IRC, or AOS blog comments.

I personally hate signing up for games. But if it keeps Griefers, and assholes out of my favorite game, i am all for it.

Could give people something cool for accounts too, like a persistent Avatar. Or even some how to make pattern on their uniform, or they keep their custom guns in a server side mod.

Forum accounts don't stop assholes and neither will in-game accounts.

I dont blame people for getting nervous about the idea, They wont have anything to do once they are banned from the game.

As far as the other threads are concerned, they are ineffective.

Wait... What? How on earth do you grief in a shooting game with a non-destructible environment like in Soldat?

Apparently not every school starts in September. A large amount of the community (as the majority is between the ages of around 12-16) is back in school already. Don't expect many full servers during school hours or at night (assuming you live in American time zones). It's not like the griefing has become significantly worse or anything, it's just that all the kids are back in school. If anything, I'd expect a decrease in griefing now that there is less free time to play this game in. They might spend the time playing, but then again, they might just grief harder.

You know what you can do? Kick them. Apparently people still haven't learned how to kick griefers as I'm still hearing idiots asking how to change their name. Actually, better idea; require age verification when signing up. That way, only like 50 people at most are able to play. Get rid of the 12 year olds and you get rid of the griefing (and the majority of the community!)

IT would be very unfortunate if Ben did not take action of some sort.

Would be really cool if Ben and the Pyspades team joined so that everything is not on Ben's shoulders.
The game is getting big, and it is easy to get overwhelmed with bugfixes, and patches.

One of the reasons Open Octane failed is because I was doing everything myself. If i would have listened to the community, and allowed a few of the modders to help in core development, we would have a free online game like twisted metal right now.

DeathEnhanced, the "community" is nothing but a bunch of griefers.

It would be stinky. I don't know much, but right now it just looks like Ben has done nothing but made the game. Everything else added to the game is the result of pyspades over top the game. Pyspades has down so much more for the game and it would be a lot better if it was integrated instead of poorly overlaid.
