I see the idea of levels and/or ranks being constantly shot down. Before you destroy me, however, I'd like to be heard out. I do not want ranks or levels to give true benefits. I do not want to get a gun, or a new grenade, or some damned cloaking device. If you keep pushing for something to be unlocked from leveling, then I only suggest aesthetic things, like hats, but I don't even really want that. If and when an account database is made, I actually think we could do something cool with ranks. By that point in time, I see Team Deathmatch being an actual ingame mode and not some modification. Ranks could revolve around how long you've been around, how many kills you've made in deathmatch/in general, how many times you've capped or saved the intel, rather than just the generic EARN XP TO GAIN LEVELZ. Say, you've made 500 total kills. There's a rank increase. You've been registered for a week and checked in consistently. There's a rank increase. But, eventually, you won't be able to get ranks from doing just those things. Just because you've been around for AoS since the dawn of time, or because you've made 5,000,000 kills, doesn't make you the highest rank. You have to be a jack-of-all-trades to be the Ace of Spades. (That's just awful.) I also think that, if levels or ranks are implemented in any form, they should revolve around a deck of cards. You start at the 2 of Clubs, and work your way up to the Ace of Spades. Banned accounts could be marked as a Joker, or even that silly little card with rules on it. (This is what you get when I think of ideas at 2 am.) If anyone's got any suggestions, alterations and changes, or disagreements, post 'em, please! :3 |

I want some sort of ranks or something...everytime I go on a server I have an awesome time building a huge bridge, tower on the bridge, ect. ect. so most teamates use the bridge to get to the opposing teams intel and everything works great. UNTIL someone on your own team takes his pick and chews one side away and starts throwing his grenades and takes out the whole bridge! It is so frustrating and, for me at least, ruins the whole experience... I have no idea on how to stop this behavior. I know for a fact sometimes people change sides so they can run around and ruin everything on the opposing team and then switch back after they wreak havok. What fun is this? The whole point of the game is to be attack the OTHER team by shooting them(not your teamate) getting the intel, sneaking around and destroy the ENEMIES stuff, NOT your own and not by cheating and switching teams! Please please please fix this! Sorry for the long post! To wrap it up, I think a rank system would be nice or something to make new players have to "earn" the right to build or at least destroy blocks other teammates have created. |

As much as I'd like to restrict griefing, that's not the way to do it. If you want them gone, votekick them, and if they aren't getting votekicked, get out of the server and find a better one, or better yet, make your own. Like I said earlier, I'd rather the ranks just being a gauge on how much/how well you've done ingame, a little trinket/feature itself, rather than an incentive to earn shit/other features. (Plus, no reason to apologize for the post, I'd just suggest breaking it up into smaller chunks next time rather than one giant paragraph. :P) |
