Considering most of the themes were crap, Loki, I didn't have much of a choice. :/ |
#5694 ZakDCCLXXVII Member Posted 13 years ago |
That is why you put one on a web server and make your own theme :) |
#5698 Jackster Member Posted 13 years ago |
Don't have a web server or the art skills to make my own theme, and I'm perfectly fine with taking a simple theme. Long as there's more control and function, it's all good. |
#5705 ZakDCCLXXVII Member Posted 13 years ago |
Ill talk to Ben and see if he wants a temporary community with the possibility of moving over to it if it works out. |
#5712 Jackster Member Posted 13 years ago |
Jack, you don't seem to be getting that we would rather cram into the nigh dead forums inhabited by me and a few others that are left from a star wars clan that formed around a shitty browser game rather than have you anywhere remotely near an official community moderation post relating to this game. |
#5753 Zakski Member Posted 13 years ago |
@Zakski I agree. Jackster laughs at the free forum hosting while he uses Copyrighted logos on his website. |
#5761 MadMonkey119 Member Posted 13 years ago |
@MadMonkey119: i like your website :D it looks clean I'm blue too! :D |
#5773 Planetluke Member Posted 13 years ago |
Thanks Planetluke, I like to keep it simple! I try not to associate myself with colors but I do fancy the blue team! |
#5775 MadMonkey119 Member Posted 13 years ago |
@jackster: i was expecting you to get mad with everyone making fun of your website and dissing you, i'm glad you didn't |
#5777 Planetluke Member Posted 13 years ago |
@MadMonkey119: we should make a vid about the blue team, and the backround music will be "i'm blue" from eiffel 65!!! |
#5778 Planetluke Member Posted 13 years ago |
Just registered the domain: Once the Nameservers change over, it'll be up and running. I don't like this BBForum |
#5788 Lexsym looka Posted 13 years ago |
Lex you hosting on your machine? Because your Apache needs configuring :) |
#5790 Jackster Member Posted 13 years ago |
@MadMonkey119: it's funny cause at the chorus it sounds like they're saying "if I was green I would die!" |
#5791 Planetluke Member Posted 13 years ago |
Uhh no, I have my own Web Hosting Provider to host my websites. |
#5792 Lexsym looka Posted 13 years ago |
Your web hosting Provider's apache needs configuring! Edit: LAWL Edit:Edit: I hope you know i don't know anything about that... I'm not stupid, i make stupid jokes |
#5798 Planetluke Member Posted 13 years ago |
http://www.ace-spades-community.com/ Nameservers have changed over, and I have just installed a fresh copy of phpBB. If you're not going to be an abusive idiot, you can become a Moderator. This is a forum created by the community, for the community. If Ben wants to use these forums he can, if he doesn't, that's okay too. |
#5829 Lexsym looka Posted 13 years ago |
As long as you don't give Jackster mod-rights over there I'm fine and would like to change over there. Especially because it would be much easier to handle and won't be such a chaos like it's here. Jackster, you really are going on my nerves with your arrogant talking. "I own massive company...herp derp...I managed several communities...hurr durr...meh has talking to BEN..." |
#5947 Green_Beret Member Posted 13 years ago |
I don't see why Jackster would get any sort of mod rights. Besides, phpBB forums have a Moderation Log, that shows to all Moderators. Showing who has done what. So others can easily tell if someone is abusing their admin or not. |

This forum is fine. Post count and signature wankery is what pushes me away from most forums. |
#6084 Brojangles Member Posted 13 years ago |
It's not about wankery but about helpful features. |
#6094 Green_Beret Member Posted 13 years ago |
I have to agree with Brojangles. People get caught up in having a bigger e-peen than actually contributing decent quality content to the community. I think these forums are fine, yes they're basic, but they suffice. Obviously anyone is free to open their own alternative forum, as it will probably happen anyway when the game becomes more popular. Ben just got the forums back up and running finally. With all the unexpected traffic and all around positive response of the game, the upkeep and maintenance that comes along with it was unexpected and possibly overwhelming for his host. Give it some time before everyone starts separating off into their own groups. There's still a lot of work to be done and I'm sure Ben knows what he's doing while balancing the work load with his personal life. You've gotta set foundations before you start working on aesthetics and extra features. |
#6098 StackOverflow Key Master Posted 13 years ago |
A main reason I actually created that separate forum, is so that in-case this website goes down again, that forum won't go down. Secondly, it was to get the Helpful features Green_Beret mentions. If there is something wrong with signatures, and such, a simple request from a few users, and they can easily be removed. Finally, I feel Ben has a little bit too much work to be doing to help manage the forums, so I just thought this would be an easier way to help ease his work load. |
#6103 Lexsym looka Posted 13 years ago |
I wouldn't mind postcounts being hidden, or signatures being removed. I just wanted to show some green patriotism with my sig, without going overboard. Like say, a giant lime green image with bright blue and red text. :V |
