  • An idea to add a little life to AoS
  •

AoS is a really good game, we can all agree on it. It's very straight forward and very simplistic. The idea I'm about to propose isn't to 'Improve' game mechanics, or to nerf this or that. It's just going to be an idea to improve the wholesome game experience. Now that I've given you the run around, I'll state my idea and we'll get debating. Get ready for my grand opening...actually an AoS machinima of the Black Ops campaign would be interesting.... but now back on topic..

    CINEMATICS.

Now when I say cinematics, I'm not talking about adding a long winded cutscene on the startup of the first time explaining a cliche story of how green and blue became enemies over argueing about one of their dogs killing the other's pig in a game of Mine Craft or what ever COD directors consider good story telling...

Basically what I wanted was that there be a blackening out effect when dying other than just tumbling over the ground and getting knocked out by the magical invisible flying rock that just happened to be in the path of your temple at the time of getting shot. The cinematics can be toggled off with the hit of a key or edit of the config, something like that. Because despite running the length of normal deaths, it may still cause people to believe they are waiting longer. It could even be slide show like setup so people may add a custom animation such as closing your eyes or an "EPIC FAIL!" jargon for the even the most adolscenced of players.

While we're at it, we could even add a team colored haze on the winning point , like instead of all players just reseting, there could be a big friendly bill board styled text reading "______ TEAM HAS WON." following a fade out haze of the winning team's appropriate color. Or even make the haze red for the losing team with big bold black letters with stylized ink drips saying something demoting like "YOU HAVE LOST" or even take it a step further and show an animated silhouette soldier commiting grenade Seppuku.. that was a joke of course...

    So what do you think?

This is a very creative idea, but I really don't think this would fit in with the game. At least, not with how it stands now. As is, there is practically no player animation in general, and watching cinematics would make it feel like 90's games - flashy, tweeny pre-rendered movies with dynamic lighting, and then the actual gameplay: not-so-flashy and tweeny.

Some sort of transition would be nice, but little things like this can be implemented into the game later.

    I want game modes
