I like how almost every suggestion to do with firearms, merely gets replied with "go play CoD ya fag"

You guys do relise that CoD has most types of firearm and has really good game mechanics, and so any improment made on AoS isnt just a "CoD suggestion! NOEY!"

ppl ask for sniper rifle, you say "go play cod"

ppl ask for landmines or charges, you say "go play cod"

ppl ask for airstrikes to be properly implemented, you say "go play cod"

Its redicules, CoD has many many factors in the firearms gameplay, almost all of them good, to make AoS better ppl suggest we implement similer mechanics.

CoD elements should not be in this game. One hit knife kills are unrealistic. Period. Stabbing someone in the back or stomach will not kill them instantly, they might die, but slowly, mostly from blood loss.

Kill streaks are just a no, as it lets the good players get MORE kills and rewards campers while the other team is spawn killed by an airstrike. Now, awarding an airstrike (or other reward) for cappin' the intel on the other hand is alot more fair and gives you an incentive to go for the intel instead of just killing enemies.

I like COD. It would be nice to see things from cod coming into aos. For example, clay-mores. They would be fun and nice to use. Other people would say "go play COD".

The game was better when it was rifle only.

Even if it is possible it doesn't mean it has to be in game. If it's hard to do, it can't be done successfully every time. Besides, there is rarely a situation when you need to melee an enemy to death. But then again, piespades already has a damaging pickaxe so why bother having an instant kill knife attack for anyway?
CoD mechanics works for CoD, but not for AoS.
Unrealistic CoD stuff should stay with CoD.

The modern Call of Duty games are some of the most shallow games in FPS existence.

There's good reason why the CoD games fail on PC. When people can actually aim properly, and aren't restricted by crappy analog controllers, the game quickly degrades and you realize how broken it truly is.

Also, killstreaks are poor game design that encourage lone wolfing and camping. They shouldn't be in any game.

Killstreaks - Yes. (Think the announcements at Quake or Unreal Tourney)
Killstreak bonuses (such as Airstrikes, Aerial Recon, etc.) - Don't go overboard or don't add them at all.

As for the CoD way of combat, Hell no. I played AoS in the first place because it's the only place where running around like a jackrabbit on steroids and shooting anything you see won't merit you lots of kills.

Either than that, I don't have any qualms about CoD. Just don't go grabbing too many ideas from it.

@Muncher: If I remember right, bullet-proof vests (out of Kevlar probably) CAN stop bullets, but are hard pressed to stop a solid stab from a knife. Also, Death mentioned stabbing the spine or the neck. That isn't protected by kevlar vests as far as I can remember.

wait i dont understand, why are people talking about how a game not being realistic ruins it, but play a game where you can support mega structers with one cube, carry 50 of said cube, survive thousands of shots without dieing, dig incredibly large tunnels fast, and carry a spade, pickaxe, large amount of ammo, 2 grenades, and a gun (plus previously mentioned cubes) all in your magic pocket with zero complaints.

Realism has no place in any game that wants to be fun. do you think anyone wants to play this?
