@TB - Yeah, whenever someone drops their intel near base who's been running for like a few minutes with it, I take it and I give it back to them. People do that to me too sometimes, but most of the time they don't. That's being a good sport :)

I always do that. When I believe my team mate really did all the work, I go to the base, die, and have them pick it up :P I hate it when you ask for it knowing you did all the credit and they well are @$$3$!

This idea would make capturing the intel very inefficient, and harder than it already is (and the difficulty of obtaining it is dependent on the effectiveness of the enemy team).

I say this because when you think about it, it's like only one person is compatible with the intel once they've carried it that far away from its origin. So like, the same guy would have to chug it back and forth to the intel constantly. And if he just kept dying because the enemy team set up a good defense around where the intel was dropped by this guy, it'd take WAY longer to successfully capture the intel and is pretty much unecessary.

I did see Mother!'s post on page 1 of this topic and it inspired me to come up with this idea for these so-called "intel stealers:"

    I. The longer one has the intel, as long as they're decreasing the distance between them and their CP, they'll get points at a constant rate (maybe like 1 point per 10 blocks, or a system to split the distance between the origin of the enemy intel & your CP into tenths so you get 1 point/tenth traveled). If you get farther away, you don't earn points, but you won't lose points.

II. If you're getting closer and then you stop and/or increase the distance between you and the CP, you won't be able to get more points than you should: if I've got the intel and I'm hauling ass back to base, but I stop and go back ten blocks, then I continue towards my CP, I won't get an extra one point. I'll get as many points as I SHOULD (this is to prevent point farming/abuse of this feature).

III. If you die while you've got the intel and have earned points for carrying it, you keep those points. You are still able to pick it up where you left it off and get the rest of the points for carrying the intel. Based on this system, if you take it 8/10 of the way to your CP, and some guy comes and picks it up and captures it, that guy will only get 2/10 of the total points.

I think that seems pretty fair, don't you? Then again, this might be hard to code, but I can't say much for that because I'm no programmer and I don't know much about the engine's capabilities in general.

EDIT: I agree with Mother! when he said at the bottom of his post that there should be something about the intel that makes teamwork and capping that magic suitcase a higher priority than an individual's total number of kills. Another thing that could be crazy easy to do (but would potentially piss off a LOT of people) is just remove points for anything. So therefore, kills don't really matter and the only number that you should be concerned about is the number of your team's successful intel captures. I, personally, would prefer this solution but I'm expecting a lot of flak for the idea.

Yeah that is a good idea. The only thing is if some1 had a really good hiding place they could get thousands of points!!

I explained in the post that you'd only get points for decreasing the distance between you (the intel carrier) and your CP. But I just thought of something and if I may, I will rephrase something from my previous post:

"I. ... ... ... If you get farther away will lose points (at the same rate)."*

There, I think that makes sense. So a player can't troll and take the intel like 9/10 of the way to their CP, then bring it all the way back to its origin and keep the points they got for getting it so close.

I edited that same previous post at the bottom and people should read that part :P

Perfect! I think you should also get points for killing some1 with the intel. Why?! Well it's a big risk and really rewarding!
