    READ THIS first paragraph at LEAST before typing ANYTHING.....

    Do NOT write "hurr durr cod suggestion", CoD contains most weapon types and explosives, and support options, and game mechanics, therefore ANY suggestion could be called a "hurr durr cod suggestions hurrr"

    Just because it is also in the game Call Of Duty, DOES NOT make it an immediate poor idea. A flash bang would be an incredibly fun and useful weapon in AoS.

    So if you dont actually add content and just ramble about CoD kiddies, I will ignore the posts, and i encourage the res tof the community to do so aswell.

    THE CONCEPT

    After pressing either 1,2,3 for your weapon, you can press 1 or 2 to choose between 2 normal frag grenades or 2 flash bangs (concussion grenades).

    This WONT add to many options to get in the game, you literally just have to press 3 buttons, one for team, one for gun, one for nade.

    The flash bang will NOT do damage, nor will it destroy blocks.

    Instead any player (including the thrower) is temporarily blinded by a white haze for a few secs (around 3-4).

    To stop GREIFERS throwing these around the spawn point, we could implement either one of two methods.

    method 1) you may only throw two flash bangs per life, you CANNOT refil them at the tent. You have to respawn.

    method 2) You must "unlock" flash bangs by gaining 40 kills, iv never seen a greifer get 40 kills and then start griefing. (40 is negotiable, maybe 25?)

    Name: Flash Bang Grenade

    Range: Same as frag grenade

    Damage: NONE

    Destroy blocks?: NO

    Blind range: You will be blinded if you are within the damage radius, which is the same as if it where a frag grenade.

    Main use:It would work very well with short range weaponry such as the smg and the shotgun.

    I may expand on this as i read the comments, feed back much appreciated =]

    About the 40 kills thing, some of us don't play long enough to get 40 kills.
    Oh and I don't think it should blind friendlies.

    Lol i like the idea but i dont see how it will be implemented now it think that its should be like 25 kills plus just because griefer grief and dont kill. Also you it would be pretty cool if it was implemented in the mine mod as white blocks.

    Pistols would be better then this.
    so would c4 and almost anything else.

    They could just be switched out for the grenades as well.

    If it doesnt blind you then its a lil unfair on the enemy, you will just destroy them everytime, the idea is to stay in cover then throw it, itl also encourage teamwork.

    If you guys play MC and use the SDK gun mod you will know the nades create lag. I always thought if they made this it would create lag making it impossible to recover from it :P

    How does flashbangs encourage teamwork?

    Player operated mortars would.

    Not flashbangs.
    That's like saying grenades encourage teamwork.

    Proof of concept requires you to ACTUALLY IMPLEMENT IT. Sheesh.

    Also, I can see griefers throwing this at spawn, killing themselves and throwing more.
    What's so good about it that you need a ridiculous amount of kills to unlock? WOW WHITE LIGHT THAT IS SO WORTH 40 KILLS.
    Plus, only law enforcement units, ie. SWAT, use flashbangs to stun enemies before approaching into a room.
    Real soldiers do not carry flashbangs, despite what Cawadooty teaches you. Nor would they find a use for one in the middle of a wide open battlefield. Just like sidearms, just a bunch of useless eye candy.

    Plus, what's the point? It blinds you as well as you're enemies, any situation where a flashbang can be used can be better handled by its lethal counterpart, Mr. Grenade.

    Not necessarily, It can mean a theoretical demo of possibilities.

    At least, thats what they taught me on my engineering course and now diploma.

    secodnly, if you read the entire OP the flash bangs are for use with shotty and smg, to increase there effectiveness, also it just adds more dimensions, more depth to the game.

    you can do this with pyspades

    make a function where if you get hit by a grenade in special conditions it teleports you into the void for this much seconds and then back where you were previously +- randomly.

    my guess:
    people won't like it, ben won't implement in the game.

    Falcon if it stops you, blinds you, it WOULD cause a bit more lag. Another thing would be spammers. Just imagine spawning and having your team mates just throwing them everywhere?!

    This is such a griefer tool. Just look at any CS griefing vids, spawn flash-nading is a common tactic.

    I mean the flash is great for QQC picture this

    Your team is pinned down by sniper fire from a bunker
    You decide to do something about it
    You go with the shottie/flash loadout
    You breach the bunker
    As they are stunned you kill them with the shottie

    ^Perfect example of flash use

    Why blind your enemies so you can shoot them and waste precious ammo when you can just blow them up?

    I dislike how you say "no point" there are many uses for it.

    ^^^ prime example.

    By your thinking, your suggesting we shouldn't add anything to the game that isnt ABSOLUTELY necessarly, which is a poor way to devleop the game.

    Esspecialy considering we havnt even tested them yet.

    And what? You think they will serve an actual purpose despite not testing it in the game in anyway whatsoever? Flashbangs just don't fit with this game.

    Because, as I said again, there are no uses for this, it's unrealistic and won't do much to help gameplay.

    Besides why tinker with adding more weapons when we still have horribly unbalanced weapons and horrible networking code?

    We cant just ONLY add completely necessarily things, ppl like you wanted to keep AoS at beta 0.26. I and many others on this thread, believe it would have a purpose and would be fun, and would be useful.

    When did I say that? I like having variety. I like my slow shooting shotguns. I like my weak underpowered SMG. I like my ridiculously overpowered rifle.

    Besides, how will you getting blinded help you make any kills?
    You don't seem to understand. Why implement a blinding grenade when a normal grenade can instantly kill your enemies?

    Answer THAT.

    Ok so you know how reg nades destroy abojects well take my example

    You throw a frag the bunker is destroyed
    Throw a flash and the buker is safe and can be used againt the enemy no need to waste blocks!

    The OP is only a very basic concept, if it was implmented id hoped they would make the blinding effect longer rnage, and lots of enemies will be blinded, rather then only a few getting injured by a conventional grenade,

    so for instance it would be much eaier to lob a flash bang and blind 5 ppl and just pop round the corner and take em down.

    Then throwing a normal nade, killing 2 and then they immediately know your there, they can see you, and its you vs the remaining 3.
