Some of you might already know what this is, as I've put a link to it on the Wiki a few days ago. It's a utility that I've been working on for Ace of Spades. It started out as another server browser with an included config editor. Along the way I've been adding new things and performing bug fixes here and there. Just released Spadille v1.3 so I figured I'd put it on here. :D

    Features:

    - Automatically updated server list (multiple "refresh" speeds)
    - Server list sorting
    - Config editor
    - Search servers by name
    - Filter full/empty servers
    - Convert IP's to URLs
    - Capture and automatically save gameplay screenshots
    - Favorite servers
    - Blacklist Servers
    - Ping servers with a single click
    - Recent servers
    - Connect to a random server
    - Notifications of new Ace of Spades release

    Screenshots/Download: http://nateshoffner.orgfree.com/projects/spadille/

Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated. A copy of the change log can be found on the link provided.

    something the webpage does:
-a freaking list of all servers without "any kind" of order

    something a serverbrowser does:
    -see OP (but to summarise)
    -filter
    -sort
    -favorite
    -blacklist
    ...etc

stop QQing when someone releases a good app!

    @StackOverflow
do you take the ping which is provided by the masterserver for the list or do you ping the servers from the users location ?
would like to see the last one :-)

"Ping servers with a single click" sounds like you have to do it manually for each server to know it

and what date format do you use ? dd/mm/yy or this lulz-format mm/dd/yy ? =D

    i still like it, gj

@plaYer2k, It initially retrieves the server ping from the master server, but by right-clicking on a server and selecting "Ping", it will return the ping from your computer to the selected server. I was going to have it automatically do this and insert it into the table but it would take more time (especially for those servers who timeout) to load the information, so I decided to make it an optional feature.

As for the date format, it's "MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss". I guess I didn't think too much about it since that's what I'm used to seeing. :p

Very nice. Using it since v1.1. :)

EDIT: Pls allow me to choose the installation folder. I hate it when a software just does it's magic but doesn't tell me what it does. Also pls provide a portable version (zip-/rar-file).
Atm I just use "Universal Extractor" as a workaround.

When you first run it, it should prompt you to locate the installation folder. Plus you can always change it by going to Tools->Options.

Ohhh, lol, sorry about the misunderstanding. Alright, gotcha. I can add it in the next release if that's okay.

    Just updated to v1.3.2

    Download: http://nateshoffner.orgfree.com/projects/spadille

    Spadille v1.3.2
    - Window state now consistent between runtimes
    - Improved filter searching
    - Fixed bug when clearing search query and filters don't refresh
    - Consolidated auto-update button and speed change options
    - Fixed bug with random connect when no servers to choose from
    - Removed version number from window title
    - User can now select Spadille install directory

Kind of feel like a dick for uploading this now after about 10 people just downloaded the last version in the past 10 minutes :P

Also, I'll try to keep on top of any issues that arise, any bug reports are appreciated as always.

Well... I have to say I like this utility. Two things, though.

    1. I realize that you use 'prt sc' to take a screenshot and I can view them, but where are they physically stored? How about a button that opens up whatever folder they are in. For the life of me I couldn't find it. Not that I looked very hard. [Edit: found them in C:\Users\insertusernamehere\AppData\Roaming\Spadille\Screenshots\]

    2. In the 'About' window... just a tip. The program author's name is Aksoy and NOT Askoy. I think he's a bit touchy about that so you might consider changing that. ;-)

    @Buffet_of_Lies

    1. Screenshots are stored in %APPDATA%/Spadille/Screenshots/. I originally meant to add an option to open the actual folder, but it seems I forgot. I'll be sure to add it in the next release.

    2. Good eye. Hope he doesn't see this :)

Another thing. I am noticing it doesn't seem to properly display the Ping listing in ascending/descending order.

The Ping listing (or any column for that matter) will only be sorted if that particular column is "sorted". Clicking on the column header will change the contents to ascending/descending order.

Edit: Okay, I think I reproduced what's happening. When sorted the contents might be something like:

    149
    165
    228
    78
    81

Is this what you're talking about?

What I am getting when i do that isn't in numerical order.

    Like:

    78
    81
    228
    165
    149

It seems sort of 'rough' numerical order...

Edit: now that I re-read your post... yes like that. ;-) No big deal.

Yeah, that's what I thought you meant. Just got it fixed, it'll be patched in the next release along with the other fixes. Thanks. :)

Nice update. Thx for adding custom location to the installation. :)

And yeah, the sorting algorithm is wrong. It sorts by the first char. So 8 is bigger than 32 for example. Happens with every column.

    Some more suggestions/bugs:
    - The Spadille update-window appears in the background.
    - Search-field is empty, I goto "Servers" --> "Search" and the small "x" appears although the search-field is still empty.
    - Allow me to press rightlick to not marked servers.
    - When I click on any of the top menu and move my mouse to another one it should also appear (like every other application like Windows Explorer does it).
    - Since I can directly ping certain servers by rightclicking on them, why not adding a new column which includes these ping-times to my client? I know that some servers fail because they blocked echo-ICMP (at least I think so). So maybe you could make a button which will update these ping-times once. So no automatic updates for them.
    - Write "OK" & "Cancel" instead of "Save" & "Close". And change the order so "OK" is on the left. Edit: Hm...but after reading some links (1, 2, 3) I'm not sure anymore. Maybe "Save" & "Cancel" would fit better. But always make sure "Cancel"/"Close" is on the right side since that's what the guidelines for Windows say.

    @Green_Beret

I got the numeric column order fixed, it was sorting the data as a string rather than an int.

Is the update window appearing in the background when you click on "Spidalle Update" or on startup, or both?

I couldn't reproduce the problem with searching the servers, so I think I must of fixed that without even knowing while I was tweaking the searching earlier :D

Fixed the right-clicking on any server.

As for the ping, I'm not sure about that. I think I get what you mean, but that means that there would be a whole new column with only data occupying those servers that the user has pinged.

Just updated Spadille to version 1.3.5 which contains a few bug fixes. I was going to release these a few days ago, but I haven't been home since then.

    Download: http://nateshoffner.orgfree.com/projects/spadille

    - Added "Deuce" name reminder at startup
    - Fixed random bug that tends to occur during fast updating
    - Fixed bug when server is selected and list is updated
    - Fixed bug with searching while empty/full filters are set
    - Added user guide to help menu
    - Fixed a few bugs with installation/uninstallation
    - Switched toolstrip to menustrip for asthetics
    - Fixed bug with clear filter button showing up when field is blank
    - Fixed bug when sorting numeric columns (ping/players/max)
    - Added button in screenshots viewer to browse storage directory
    - Fixed Ben Aksoy's name in about dialog (sorry Ben)

As always, any bug reports or suggestions are appreciated.

Hey, thx alot. You fixed all my reported bugs! :)
Edit: And one more. I just clicked on "Tools"-->"Screenhots" and then "Browse" and got this unexpected exception. (It's german btw.)
Keep in mind that I've never used this feature before, so it's maybe checking for a missing folder, file, etc.

Thanks, just fixed it. And I took a few years of German back in high school so it's not too difficult to figure out, even though I already guessed what the problem was when you first described it. I'll release a patch for it in a little bit, currently trying to finish up another project. Plus there's a few improvements I plan on making as well.

Just released v1.3.7. New features include ironsight manager and map manager.

    Download: http://nateshoffner.orgfree.com/projects/spadille

The map manager is a bit rough and may have some bugs. When you save a map (via F1 during a game), it gets backed up to another location and can then be managed in the "Map Manager". From there you can copy it to the "vxl" folder in the Ace of Spades installation folder where it can be used when setting up a server.

The ironsight manager allows you to easily store and swap between ironsights.

    Spadille v1.3.7
    - Added start menu shortcuts for ironsight manager and maps manager
    - Created Utilities subdirectory in start menu
    - Added drop-down list for resolutions in config editor
    - Fixed bug when clearing search field and changes are not applied
    - Fixed many possible bugs involving incorrect Ace of Spades directory
    - Fixed bug involving repetitive installation directory dialog on startup
    - Added notification for new Ace of Spades releases
    - Added saved maps manager
    - Added automatic copying of saved maps
    - Status bar now displays last update timestamp
    - Added ironsight manager

I appreciate any bug reports (some will probably exist with the map manager).
    Thanks :D

@Taurus, if you're still experiencing the problem, download and install 1.3.7 and see if that fixes the problem.
