This one has to do with what drives us as humans. Most people belive it to be the promise of reward, but that rule often dosen't apply. You see I'm learning Java, but I don't plan to work at a large game devlopment company. Instead me and thousands of others who do the same are doing it for fun, connectivity with the audience of the game, and personal mastery of the programming language. This sugests that monitary value is only a purposful reward to a point. Also has some intersting bussiness models instead of, say at a software company, think of something cool and you can have this money, it demolishes the boundries of direction to invoke creativity without cost.
