  • Xbox 360 controller, Sixaxis, Class alpha support for AOS. NOW with VOXED!
  •

Made a couple of profiles for my controllers .

You need the Pinnacle profiler to use them. (free trial, cheap to buy)
    http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/

    and the profiles
    http://www.alii3d.com/download/xbox360AOS.zip

There is one for AOS and another for Slab6.

I have the crouch set to toggle by default. If you don't like it, I have included a command for holding the button to crouch.

The slab6 profile is very nice. one stick tumbles the model, while the other dollies, and pans the camera.

Will try a voxed one next.

It is nice to sit back with my feet up on the desk, rather than hunched over the keyboard and mouse.
For a quick "jolly" , there are rumble settings to add excitement to an otherwise boring task.

Most of the buildings in Chute where made with my joystick.

Playing in AOS is a real blast.
The rumble support REALLY adds to shooting the guns. Especially the SMG!

I just wish there was a way to program a hard JOLT for the shotgun.

I might add some light rumbles later for the footfall sounds too.

    EDIT VOXED:
    Now there is voxed support!
press A with mose over the block you just made to remove obnoxious blinking cursor after building things. (click anywhere else with A will change the block color to the curently selected color.)

Color select is ultra easy 1 button ordeal.
Place the cursor on the object you just created, and press X to open the color cube. Press X again to auto select color on cube, and suto shut the color selector.

If you want to rip an existing color to the blocks you just created, place the cursor over any block and press x twice to grab that color.

3 movement speeds for left stick- so any tilt under 50% is slow movement, while anything maxed out at 100% will go full speed...

    KNOWN BUGS

Not really a bug, but your cursor needs to be over the blocks you just created to select a color from the color cube. Otherwise it will steal the color that is under the cursor in the world view. (not the palet/color cube view)

Cursor controls on the POV/hat button does not bring the KVX/VOX prefab down. It sees the numeric keypad Enter as the regular Enter key. pops open the color cube.

BACK button also acts like levt mouse button
Strt button also acts as left mouse button

I think I'll use this. But how does it connect to your PC? Do Wireless X360 controllers need some special cable or something?

I think there was an adapter at one point for wireless controllers. You might be able to google for it and find some stashed away in a warehouse.

I just buy the non-cordless ones. They plug right into a USB port, and the drivers automatically install for windows Vista and up... XP sometimes needs an update from MS to make it run fully.

You do not need Pinnacle for most games, the x360 controller works right out of the box.

In the USA you can get a used controller really cheap at any Gamestop.

So far I have :SixAxis, X-360, Wii, and ps2 controllers. If you want to use Wii, get GlovePie.exe it has better sensor bar support.

okay so i downloaded pinnacle, i have installed it and downloaded your AoS profile.
my sixaxis controller is plugged into my pc (windows 7) and it says that the drivers have been installed.
in pinnacle i imported your AoS profile saved it , and opened up a server from aos website.... nothing happened.

i think i might have done something wrong myself but there seems to be very little documentation on the internet about how to use ps3 controllers on a ps3 so if anyone could help that'd be really great. thanks

    Serious question...
Why would you want to use an analogue stick rather than a mouse in an FPS?

    "Serious question...

a better question, why would you even consider using a controller on a fps where you can only use one tool at a time?

    wha ^

i might give it a try, i've thought about trying it for some other games. the only problem is that i don't know about that trial software, there is probably something else for free, but maybe not. i will try it out, though

"why would you even consider using a controller on a fps where you can only use one tool at a time?"

so i can sit back in my chair comfortably and not have to hunch over the keyboard, also it means i can connect my pc and tv and play AoS from my sofa :)

I have friends that only play RTS and mmo's on the PC, the shooters they play on their game consoles.

I just do it when i am testing stuff out. I am not very accurate yet.

For slab6 I use it because I have ruined way too many models by accidentally pressing the Home or Ins keys. I dont even have those mapped.

Going to try some voxed next.

With Pinnacle I think you can re-map keyboard hotkeys too, so you can control your music player, without tasking out of AOS. (I just use FOOBAR 2000, and have Global hotkeys set for next track, and volume/mute)
