I know someone is pretty good at SLAB6 and Ironsight making, so I want to get them for my "Realistic Mod". I will give FULL credit to them, you could probably put your name in the corner (Make it small) on the ironsight. That's really all, hope someone will read this, hopefully I don't have to bump it. Thanks!

Here is the idea:

A map or gamemode, where you can build on not only the land, but can also stick blocks to the other edges of the map - the wall of the map, and also the ceiling -, and when the block construction is connected to either of them, it would not fall down.
In short, all six sides of the play area would function as the ground.

It is not a very extreme gamemode, but it could be very funny and bring more space for impossible buildings and tactics with them.

How about making a type of block that would cost more resources...

Like 10 for 1 block but that would endure like 3 times more..

This could be used to build pillars for bridges..so those wouldnt get griefed or destroyed so fast..
I personally dont like the idea of absolute indesctrucibility..but sometimes a little more stable than those original block would come in handy.

We have a new weapon that should satisfy our weapon hungry needs, although it still needs tweaking. However, I think we should have some "Superblocks" that take maybe 10 pick/bullets to destroy or 3 shovel digs to destroy. You can only choose to use them like the weapon, and the only way to get more is to die. I think 10 or 5 would be a good number, and maybe you can't put them within 2 blocks of the intel or bases xy coordinates. Any CONSTRUCTIVE comments welcome. All others viciously ignored.

I am very very VERY certain that there is a similar post to this such as lapis's.

Idea: Supply blocks But on a more logistical point of view.

Basically supply blocks would be blocks where you collect your supplies at.

As in lapis's idea It would be everything like that, HOWEVER IT would have LIMITED supplies, Where "extra ammunition" would come in.

you'd have a seperate indicator of ammunition on the left side of your screen which will be maybe at maximum 300? It not be "ammunition" it would be considered supplies, that you yourself cannot tap into for your own consumption. Though, You could go to your commanding post and grab some supplies to bring to a supply block. It would add realism and not allow an uber defense that would be hard to get through as people would keep resupplying at the infinite block.

"supplies" would add an extra part to the game and make territorial control not just be sit next to the supply block and shoot. It would let the team make sacrafices for people to go back/killself to go back to the commanding post to collect supplies.

It would make everyone depend on eachother to get the job done.

It would also DISALLOW spawn camping as everyone would be in need to have a constant supply route and by the time their supply guys come to the enemy's homefront to resupply the supply block they will already be out of ammunition due to their long supply route.

This would allow new tactics for the game and make it much more enjoyable as each team will have to make team decisions that will decide their win or loss.

it could also open up more roles on the battlefield, as some people can be the "supply guy" and do supply routes the entire time.

To balance it all out, upon spawning noone will have extra supplies, they will have to collect it from the HQ.

Example of ingameplay:

squad 1 skirmishes out to the front and places a supply block supply block is empty upon placement and squad has to dump their extra supplies into the block. they all defend the block without sending anyone to collect supplies from the commanding hq They all create a flourishing trench line and base around the supply block.

The enemy team masses an assault to their location and gets defeated.

In the process squad 1 is very low on ammunition and health, so they go to the supply block. Everyone gets handed out supplies until the current supplies ammount in the block is completely depleted. 3 members of the squad we're unable to get full supplies due to that.

the enemy team takes advantage of their loss in supply and manages to kill many of their members while nearly taking the block. So squad 1 realises their mistake and starts a small supply route which happened too late for it to be effective which results in the loss of the supply block where the enemy team can use the current supply stock

That was an example of ignorance of giving supplies^ now that you get a proper image you can imagine other scenarios, good night to you all :D

Ben, would it be at all possible to make some sort of editor-placable indestructable block? I realize this would mean recoding the game AND the editor, which will be a huge pain the <redacted>, but ultimately I think it would really add to the gameplay.

As it is now, everything is destrucable. That can be fun, but griefers can quickly ruin the whole thing by levelling entire buildings, mountains, fortresses, etc.

With Pyspades, all preexisting blocks can be made indestructable. This protects structures somewhat better, but the cost in terms of fun is immense. No tunnels, no dug-in bunkers, and no trenches makes for a run-of-the-mill shooter. Alternatively, tunnels, bunkers, and trenches can be pre-built, in which case they're indestrucable and thus overpowered.

Imagine, however, that map creators could make building frames indestructable, and then add destruable walls. This way, map creators could make maps where core mechanics remain unchanged throughout the server's runtime. Mountains with a thick layer of dirt over impenetrable rock could put an end to the dreaded "levelled" maps. Castles with solid rock walls, and skyscrapers with solid, ungriefable frames are just a few possibilities.

This could add a bit of realism to the game, since standard real-world entrenchment tools have their limits as well. It may or may not be worth the trouble to implement, but I'm just throwing this idea out there for consideration.

AxleTheNinja on "Suggestions for AoS"

I've been playing this game for a little while, and I have some suggestions. Please, don't rage at me, they are just suggestions. I don't want to force anything on anyone, just see if anyone agrees. These are just my opinion.

Things the game DOES need:

-Map coordinates
-Spinning, flashing, Intel icon (so you can actually see it after most of the map is covered by crap)
-Esc Menu (Change Controls, Quit game, votekick)
Ground under Medic Base Tent is invincible (Having it dug into a hole by greifers is annoying

Things the game DOESN'T need:

-Tanks
-Sniper Rifles
-SMGs or Assault Rifles
Airplanes
Smaller/more detailed blocks (cuz that would mean an engine change)

Things that MIGHT work:

-Landmines (Highly visible, and shoot-able to disarm)
-Shotgun (7 pellets, 25 damage no matter where they hit, Human sized spread at about 1/3 of fog)
-Pistol (though real WW1 soldiers didn't have them
-Flamethrower (this one is iffy, but it would increase offensive abilities)
-Artillery (I like this one but doubt it would be balanced no matter how you do it)
-HMG (it would have to be deploy-able. Can't move it until you pack it up, low field of view.

This is an idea that I really like: 3 Classes

Solider: This is what we have now. A rifle, 2 grenades, 50 blocks, all that jazz. This one would stay the same.

Technician: This guy would be the "builder." He wouldn't get grenades, and he would be armed with a pistol (maybe). His main ability would be a second block type. It would be in the 5th inventory slot (were the grenades are). Placing this block would take away 5 blocks from your reserve. They would be light gray in color. They can only be destroyed by another technician (but would take 6 hits) and shovels won't affect them. The can also be destroyed by explosives.

Point Man: This would be the, well, the point man. He would get a shotgun. He would also get Dynamite instead of grenades. It can only be tossed one or two blocks, but blows up big after about 6 seconds. It would be useful for blowing a hole in Heavy Blocks made by Technicians.

This would add variety to a game that unfortunately is becoming stale fast. It would also let you make fortifications that aren't made of wet newspaper. To get by these walls you would either need to bring a Technician (with a crappy gun) or a Point man to break through.

Thanks for reading, please don't flame ;-)

As you guys probably know, a recent update (I forget which one :P) made it so refilling your block supply was limited when going back to your team's tent/base. From what I've seen, your block supply will only refill after you have killed an enemy. So, once you kill a dude, you can go back to your tent/base and get 50 blocks. But only once per kill.

What do you guys think of this? Should it be changed back to how it was when you could just keep on refilling?

1. You can build on top of a player. This can get him inside the unrendered part of the voxels, +leaving him stuck. The only ways out are suicide or waiting for someone to dig you out.
2. Looking straight down or up is jerky and adds charm to the game, but you can see every entity (players, intel, tent) through the block you're standing on/right over you. I've killed a few people using this AND was killed by a few people because of this.

I was looking at forums saying how if you build something then they would destroy buildings that you built. So i had some ideas that are: If they try to destroy say a message that says this block does not belong to you. Or a little pop up will pop up in the corner of your screen asking if you want to allow him/her to destroy your block. If you accept it you can go to the leader boards and decline the that player from destroying blocks. Comment on what you think of it!
