<description><p>Over the past 3 days there have been threads about rifle: balancing/reducing accuracy/RoF/MAKE IT WORSE PL0X.<br />
And the feedback to those topics were a mixed bag, mainly consisting of people disagreing with the OP, some posts agreed with the OP but they were crushed by the overwhelming agreement of the forum.<br />
There were one or two damage topics which didn't exactly involved the rifle; but the goal of the topic(s) would have introduced a few tedious problems.<br />
At least one of the topics must have been created by someone who had started playing when 0.58 came out, meaning they had never played AoS with the cone. For those who don't know what the cone is I'll explain: The cone was an update to the rifle (before 0.54, e.g &#60;0.52, the rifle was pinpoint accurate meaning headshots were assured) which made headshots RANDOM. No skill was involed in headshotting during that version, the only person who'd give you a headshot was Lady Luck.<br />
Back on topic.<br />
One suggestion I suggested in the topics (aswell as other people) was that we focus on the OTHER weapons, not the rifle.</p>
<p>So, balancing time.<br />
Shotgun.<br />
-Faster firing<br />
-Instant kill at close range<br />
-More damage at medium range<br />
-Slight damage at Long range.<br />
-Spread range increased? (multiple targets get hit)</p>
<p>SMG.<br />
-More damage<br />
-More accurate<br />
-Less spread<br />
-Better range<br />
-Faster firing<br />
The SMG seriously needs a buff.</p>
<p>One last thing:<br />
A way to overcome the "ZOMG!!11 I can't get close without dying!!" problem would be teamwork. A sniper(s) takes out the enemy so the dude with the SMG and the guy with the shotgun can get close enough.<br />

<p>P.S AoS does NOT have to be too realistic, sure we have realistic gun mods (don't count MLP mod), but last time I checked huge fortresses aren't created in under 30 mins.

<description><p>My first review, hopefully I'll do more.</p>
<p>As usual I went on the internet to check if the new update was out yet. I was incredibly eager to release my exciment by blasting people in the face with the new shotgun, then I saw it; 0.58 download.<br />
I then proceded to download it and then I went on a few servers to test everything out. they are split into sections:</p>
<p>Rifle Accuracy.<br />
Myself (and probably many people) are happy that the accuracy of the rifle is back, though like Ben said it decreases with continuous shots. I was having a hard time at first with the rifle because I got so used to the cone after a while, nevertheless it was a good period of rifle revision: how to get good headshots.</p>
<p>SMG balance.<br />
The Smg is AWESOME now, though not my prefered weapon, the accuracy of the smg is alot more comfortable aswell as it's recoil. The range for it is nice too. It's pretty useful for when you go behind enemy rifle cover and you unleash hell upon them.</p>
<p>New weapon: Shotgun.<br />
The Shotgun is a pretty damn powerful weapon, deals a high amount of damage to players it is also useful for going behind enemy cover and taking about 5 people down (in most cases with you). But it seems ben forgot to balance this weapon out unfortunatly, when I was on the server some people (do note that it takes skill to do this) could SNIPE with a shotgun. about 20 or 30 blocks away I could get blasted in the face by someone with a shotgun from a distance where theres a slight glimmer of them in the fog. It's just ridiculous, shotguns aren't meant for sniping; snipers are (or in AoS's case, rifles). The Shotgun has a pretty balanced ammo count aswell as reloading time.</p>
<p>Fog.<br />
The new fog effects are nice because now we can have day, night, disco...<br />
It allows players to fully imerse in the game, giving a more realistic feel, now we only need lighting effects.</p>
<p>Server.<br />
The default AoS servers are laggy, the ping count (in the pretty useful ping display) is quite high, and more lag means less fun gameplay (like when I was going to use a shotgun on a green in front of me, I lagged and walked right in front of him -_-")</p>
<p>Summary:<br />
+The rifles accuaracy.<br />
+The SMG has been balanced well.<br />
+coloured fog! (well this point doesn't count so much)<br />
+New weapon: The Shotgun is powerful but...<br />
-...Shotgun's range is too far, It's needs to be balanced.<br />
-The Normal Servers are laggy.</p>
<p>And there you have it, my lovely review. please comment below!</p>
<p>*note to people who slam this game: I just wrote a review with good and bad points, and it was a fair review, Is it that fucking hard to actually say/write something decent about the game?

<description><p>Note: This isn't a request thread (e.g every 5 seconds I get a request) Since the last one I did almost gave me a heart attack (kidding).</p>
<p>I feel bored and I want to play around with SLAB6, so I will create 3 Mod-Packs (I also want to brush up on my weapon making skills).</p>

<description><p>well i was just on a server and I was suprised at how shit I was.<br />
Ok, I WAS using the SMG for a while but when I switched back to the rifle... and I was still shit.<br />
Well the majority of that reason was probably that stupid cone, but I'd say that I need a new sight.<br />
For some reason with me sights are like the weapons in minecraft, there good but they start to lose thier strength, eventually becoming nothing, so I end up needing a new one.<br />
so basicly I need a good sight. I wish this game had some sort of practice mode though but the topic isn't about that.<br />

<description><p>Yes it's another sniper rifle thread thats trying to argue it's way through a sea of people who think it could ruin the game, well think again! it could be a good (and useful) weapon if it's implemented well into the game.<br />
but first im going to talk about the pros and cons of the sniper.</p>
<p>1.Camping<br />
On the weapon poll there must of been over 50 posts that said "people would just camp" or "everyone will start camping!" yes people probably would camp with it but:<br />
You're supposed to camp with a sniper! im mean come on! who uses a sniper rifle whilst moving around? and if ben added weight to it to balance it then that proves what im saying even more; your supposed to camp with a sniper! and for all those who say "camping will ruin the game! etc." well you go back to your COD games you 12 year olds. camping is also a tactical advantage, in maps like hallway when someone goes in to get the intel the people with rifles cover the player because there up high and there eliminating the chance of the player who is getting the intel being defeated.</p>
<p>2.Ammo<br />
Some others were saying that it would have too much ammo and it wouldn't be a proper sniper, im sorry ben but it appears that some people think you are stupid.<br />
Ben would obviously add less ammo (possible per clip) to the sniper.</p>
<p>3.rifle + sniper<br />
Some people were saying that having a sniper plus the semi would be a bad idea.<br />
well this is a no braimer because ben would probably water-down the rifle. People were saying that its fine if we just give the rifle it's pinpoint acuracy again, well we know that thats not going to happen (thanks alot you complaining deuces).</p>
<p>4.Balancing<br />
Others were complaining that the rifle would be too powerful and that it would be a 1 hit kill from any part of the body, well there are two ways around this:<br />
1. Ben makes it that when you try to aim the sights (when you right click) moves really slowly so it's impossible to hit moving targets.<br />
2.The sniper could only kill with a headshot.<br />
3. (okay this IS a cod idea) the sight bobs up and down like the character is breathing (greens and blues breathe right?) and you press the wheel in the mouse to make the player hold thier breath.</p>
<p>5.Reloading<br />
People were saying that the sniper would have slower reload, i agree with that.</p>
<p>6.Range<br />
A few said that people would be able to see further with the sniper (zooming in). whilst some said that it would be good others said that it would be bad, now they probably don't know about AoS render distance and that the fog is just to cover it up, but tbh I think we would be fine if we could see normally with the sniper.</p>
<p>7.Spawn killing<br />
Some said that snipers would spawn kill, which i agree IS a bad thing, BUT the sniper would have limited ammo so eventually they would have to use grenades or a sidearm or something. And also: did any of those people think about trying to kill the spawn killer? it's so easy, and with a sniper it would be easier...</p>
<p>well thats all I have to say, post your opinions on what I said.<br />
Now excuse me, im going to go to my bunker where I can be safe from all the trolling noobs who didn't read what I said, the sensible people will read it and post a fair point.
