Hey all! :D

So yup, it's official! I'm going to make a new clan, and a bunch of people are already willing to join! d(^W^)b Sadly, Zeke is sticking to another clan... :,( Regardless, we'll still be buddies and I have a good feeling that I'll be able to lead this one pretty well. ;) In case you don't remember, here's the list of things we've got about it, with a bit of editing:

CURRENT IDEAS FOR A NAME: Architects of Awesome (AoA), All Stars Only (ASO [as-oh]), Modders of Aces (MoA[moh-ah]), 37 To The Maximum (37MAX), Undead Survivors of Warfare (USoW [yoo-sow]), Veterans of Warfare (VoW [voh]), X-tinction (Extinction, you know?)(X), Where Da Chicken At??? (WDCA), Damage per Second (DpS), Brothers In Arms (BIA [bai-uh]), etc.
CURRENT BASIS OF IDEALS AND MOTTOS FOR CLAN: Building is best; a good defense is a better offense; Ace of Spades + Chipotle + fine young women in yoga pants = Paradise; Modders forever; pioneering the way to the coolest game on Earth; for everyone who's chill- homey's and lonelies, the ladies and the mateys, and anyone else who's got the coolness in them!; best at everything; back from the dead; n00bs will be punished severely; we HURT; fun and enjoyment first, winning comes next; united we stand, together they fall; etc.

NOTE: by applying in ADVANCE to a position and also contributing to the creation of the clan, you will automatically be given that position! (b^^)b But when I say "contribute", I mean REALLY contribute!
WHAT OUR CLAN WILL DO: Clan wars, modding packs, HOPEFULLY host servers if we can get someone to, being "prophets" of building good structures and other helpful hints, basically just being the coolio/friendly helpers of AoS, TO SHOOT UP YOUR @$$, etc.

Anyways, now that we have MOST of the stuff we need, we just need more contribution and ALSO we need people to "vote" for a name for the clan, because nobody is really in agreement. :P By that, I mean ANYONE can vote- even if you're not joining the clan. ;) We just need a decision, so yeah. :P

But anyways, it IS official, and this clan WILL rock if we can get those contributions necessary!!! d(^W^)b So thank you EVERYONE for supporting the idea, and I hope that we can really get this clan up and running so we can get to work! ;D

To move classes, you will need to fufil the requirements:
To move from D to C, you must post us a picture of 200 kills.
To move from C to B, you must post us a picture of 350 kills and help recruit 2 people.
To move from B to A, you must post a picture of 550 kills and help recruit 4 people (doesn't count people you recruited from moving from C to B).
To move from A to S, you must post a picture of 600 kills and help recruit 6 people (same rules as before).
To move from S to an Almighty Sub-Leader, you must post a pic of 650 kills and help recruit 8 people (same rules as before)..

You can attain the kills with a sum of pics, e.g: I have one pic which has 500 kills, and another which has 100 kills, by submitting these I can move up.

I used to play Ace of Spades quite a long time ago and it worked then

But I downloaded the newest version and its not working now.

It is EXTREMLY difficult to host a server with the new routers like bt home hub 3 and don't get why I could host a server without opening and forwarding ports. home hub 3 only excepts well known game servers and I can't forward any other port. Plus when I tried opening ports it rejected the commands. Isn't there a easier and more simple way to host a server without making ports like other games?

I was just chatting with the guys on my server tonight, but when Minecraftnerd left my server, my irc bot said byeeee, all on it's own. Right after that it said, "I am God". At first I just said that it was weird, and told the guys on my server that my bot had just talked, when it piped up, saying stfu b****!!! I then said something else, and it said that it wasn't a dog :/. After a while, it added it's own comments, even going so far as to get all confused when somebody left the server. it then called our my name, asking if I was there, and even asked how I felt! after a while it mysteriiously went silent, and I will post a new comment if I see it again.
It is possible that mat^2 somehow slipped this in, but when I told him about it he seemed to be surprised by it. It is also possible that it was like an experimental thing on quakenet, which is more likely, and that might explain its...unusual vocabulary.

I just want to make two things clear: I am new to irc, and I had just set it us on my server when this happened. The other thing is that i swear to god that Im not making this up, and that I didn't fake it or do it intentionally.

Does anyone here have any idea what caused this?

Whenever i try to run a server, i can type gen and set all of the other settings and it runs fine, but whenever I drag a .vxl file on the window to get the filepath, then delete .vxl then hit enter, the prompt for entering the file appears over and over in an infinite loop. i tried it without the path and with the .vxl but it doesn't work. Any help?

I cannot find any posts relating to this particular problem.

However when I attempt to access a server, even my own.

The only reply I get in return is that the server is either full or misconfigured, or that the map files mismatch.

Does this mean that I'm missing files or data, e.g Minecraft?

So I've tried to put up a server, but couldn't get much further than gray ocean. It shows up on the server list, and I can join my own server and walk around, but everyone else apparently just gets a gray world.

I'm not sure if it matters but yeah, I tried not playing in my own server, people still get gray worlds. I can usually see lots of clients joining and leaving.

I have forwarded both TCP and UDP 32887. Not sure if TCP is necessary.

Now here it gets weird: I can't check if 32887 is forwarded via canyouseeme.org. It tells me the connection times out.

I have other ports, both above and below 32887, both TCP and UDP, that I have forwarded for other purposes. canyouseeme.org correctly shows the forwarded TCP ports as open, and gives a time out error for UDP ports.

Apparently you can't check UDP with sites like these anyway, you need to communicate with the actual server. Though then again, if my server appears on the list, I guess the port is open?

By the way, if I forward just 32887 TCP, canyouseeme.org still doesn't say it's open. What the hell? I dunno lol.

This appears to be a major problem, since half the servers are empty right now and probably for this reason. Another quarter have some players, but you get a gray world, probably for the same reason.

So what's with the gray world thing? Is it a configuration problem? Is it because the server bandwidth (master or individual) is saturated? Is it because of latency/lag?

I think it would be a nice feature if an administrator of a server could type /build to toggle building. If it is on it allows you to build freely like normal but if it is off you cannot build at all on the map so the map won't be destroyed and it will a lot more fun to play on. There are some maps such as bridge wars where people just whip out their pickaxes and take down everything in sight.

I realize that many lists have been made up to warn Server Admins, etc about questionable players. This will just be ones that I've witnessed.

I can't vouche for anyone adding to it, but if you do I would suggest following my guideline below.

Known Name/Alias: Jihad_Nasheed, Jihad, Jihad_Nadasheen
Reason: Griefing legitimate defenses, blocking in tents/players, taking intel and hiding away with it, hacking.
Servers frequented: Aloha uscentral hallway, aloha uswest island, aloha uswest pinpoint, aloha uscentral gen

Verified: I witnessed this guy on Aloha servers before doing this kind of asinine behaviour - to be expected of those - but i noticed in a game I played at 0900 (Central Time US&Canada) July 29/2011 in addition to low level griefing he was employing some weird hacks. He would be able to fire his gun and create a block in the air - not a server feature - and also be able to teleport from the bottom of cliffs to the top or across the map - in a server with no lag. Hopefully he just sticks to Aloha servers.

Just a heads up to any Admins who notice this guy join their server. BAN ASAP. Sorry I don't have IP.

C-C-ComradeFSM and I are starting a server series (The Comrades Build Only 1&2)(Don't confuse these with the komrade servers). In order to make these more successful, both need to have an updated version of pyspades (we are too overwhelmed with the prospect of compiling it ourselves), and a ranking system to go with them. We would be VERY, VERY HAPPY if someone were to send either of these to us!!

P.S. The newest version of pyspades is needed to disable fall damage, and to improve platforming

I wanted to start a private server so me and my friend could build the ultimate bunker on pinpoint and save it to use online once it is finished. He brought his computer over, and I started up the server by opening the Ace of Spades server application, and loaded the pinpoint.vxl (without the .vxl of course) set max players to 2, and said no to master server advertisement. I went to Spadille and went to favorites and loaded local server and it loaded up pinpoint with only me on it. Then he connected to my Wi-Fi and opened Spadille but there was no option to connect to a local network. Then he set up a server, but this time it said that the local server was either full or misconfigured. When I tried to reconnect to mine, it said the same thing, and now it won't work no matter what. What do I do?

I have no idea why this happens, but it happens WAY too often. I'll be running the server for awhile, sometimes 10 minutes or 2 hours, and I'll get this cryptic error message in the console:
"Error sending outgoing packets: No Error"
It usually pops up about 100 times in a row too, followed by:
"Disconnected from Master Server"
This is crazy. I'll be in a game and never know it even happened. The game doesn't lag, I just suddenly notice that the server is dwindling down on players and no one new is coming in and check the console and sure enough, every time, this is what I see. Why doesn't the darn server even try to reconnect after that?
Any advice or commiseration would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I just wanted to complain about the server lag since the .54 update. In every server that I go into now, I can't kill others because the server is lagging, others look like they are not even looking at me and shoot and kill me, or when I'm making a base or what not I lag through the floors. All I'm asking is if there is a way to fix this and for StackedOverflow or bcoolface to look into this... Thanks a lot guys
