I have made a Linux client in python.
Technically it isn't a client, but it makes it MUCH easier.

I made this because I(and others) have to manually type in the ip that we get from the website.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Have AoS installed using wine.
2. Have python 2.7(not higher, not lower)

WHAT IT DOES:
1. It lists all the servers with: Players, Ping and name
2. It takes input for which server(the number)
3. It runs the terminal command to join that server.

HOW TO SET IT UP:
1. Download it(end of post)
2. Place it in your AoS folder.
3. Either double click it and say: Run in terminal or cd to your AoS directory and type ./client (it will take a few seconds to retrieve the servers)
4. Find the server you want to join.
5. Type in the number next to it(first number on the line)
6. Press Enter and wait for wine to start it!

EXAMPLE
This is an example to show what to do:
1. 2/8 45 Random
2. 5/25 200 Qwerty
Server: 1

It lists the servers(random and qwerty). Then I type in 1 the server number for Random and press enter.

BUGS:
It is still in beta 0.1 and sometime will glitch when getting the servers, this normally occurs when there is a fake server or server is set up weirdly.

By the way, what I mean by ranking is this: a copy of pyspades or a script that uses multiple passwords, with each one giving you a certain "rank", or amount of power (with the highest rank being admin).

Also, could someone compile a copy of the platform script that uses /p and /b instead of /platform and /button?

C-C-ComradeFSM and I are starting a server series (The Comrades Build Only 1&2)(Don't confuse these with the komrade servers). In order to make these more successful, both need to have an updated version of pyspades (we are too overwhelmed with the prospect of compiling it ourselves), and a ranking system to go with them. We would be VERY, VERY HAPPY if someone were to send either of these to us!!

P.S. The newest version of pyspades is needed to disable fall damage, and to improve platforming

Did you change the screen resolution in the config file? Change it back to 800x600 and try again.

try re installing ace of spades if that doesint work ask a web admin or search wiki

Kaede-chan, in 0.54 you can choose to not advertise your server on the master server simply by typing: "n" when prompt. It won't display on the servers list.

Even if you host a server with the alt+0173 character as a name (so nobody can actually click the server to enter it), the server's IP can easily be found by right clicking the server list and pressing "view page source".

And how would you even go about hosting a server without connecting it to the master server, unless it is a LAN server?

You can already pretty much do this. Don't advertise your server on the master server, and give your friends you want to play your aos:// key.
