The heavy machine guns in Day of Defeat are great weapons, but they're not overpowered. Think about it, it would fit in perfectly with the WW1 theme of the game.

... then again, ben ought to remove the shotgun and replace it with a heavy machine gun. Powerful with a high fire-rate but very inaccurate!

I think the shotgun is perfect. No change needed.

Shotguns don't need to be removed, just rebalanced. The trouble is that they're powerful, but their significant spread makes it very difficult to kill anything beyond 10 meters. This reduces their purpose to insta-pointblank-headshots-from-around-the-corner and spawn killing.

IMO, the range of the shotgun needs to be increased and its damage reduced to improve its usefulness and balance.

Lol I don't just spawn kill! I usually use shotguns with squads to get that far through the map :P

Shotguns are way too overpowered, and used by too much faggots. Replace it with a real sniper, or a mountable weapon or something! The shotgun is a piece of shit.

Well I looked through the pack and thought it was ok. There are so many new modding mechanics these look a little weird. Soon enough they should catch on :D

Alright, it would mean alot. Not as many people have an "arms" version for their packs, so I use most of the same mods.

Yeah, I'm aware of SIMOX, although I haven't used his mods nearly as much as I should have.

I'll check it out.

As most people know SIMOX, great modder and all, makes arms. His are fantastic! They make the arms look curved, and more realistic. If you check out some of his guns, through Slab6, you might be able to get the idea.

Yeah, I have to admit they look pretty weird in the menu. I cant stand playing without arms! I downloaded a pack that has arms, ever since then I haven't been able to play without. I think it's weird holding an smg/shotgun with one hand. I dought even FPSRussia could do so.

I don't have a good feel for arm placement yet, and since my client's being buggy right now there's no way for me to use trial and error. I suppose I could steal the placement from someone else... are there any "armed" gun modes that you particularly like that you'd like me to work from?

I may actually convert my entire pack to "armed" (although I'd also provide an arm-free version) sometime in the future. I kind of like how the arms make the game look from a first-person staindpoint, although they look a little goofy in the menus.

No problem, they seem like really good guns. Well I'm gonna download them and see which ones I like best. Do you happen to do arms by any chance?! If I were to request 6 guns would you mind adding arms to them, if you can?

It may not be such a great idea to majorly bump something like this... forums members like myself can get a little annoyed.

I do appreciate the feedback, though. No more pictures at the moment... the guns I choose are fairly representative of the pack as a whole, so they should give you at least a vague idea of the quality and variety of the contents.
