First of all I must say, I like Ace of Spades. I think a lot of people had this idea, it's nice to see it actually there. Now I don't know how did the author come up with this idea, but let's assume he wanted to do make non-realistic Quake 3/Battlefield mash up with fully destructible environment, whilst having considerable performance on pre-Q3 era PCs.

So I also assume wanted to add the sandbox component, by making it look like Minecraft, where 1 block is about the width and length of your torso. It's a good idea and I support it. However the block is dull and the whole technique leads to a very big, graphics mess. And the whole problem raises when some of the terrains have a horrible colour palette. Like web-safe horrible.

So I suggest making it look like this:
http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/2768/aosk.jpg
Now I know, this is clearly photoshopped, but what I wanted to demonstrate there is this:
http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/1724/cubeze.png
Instead of this:
http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/9909/cube2u.png
Man I'd be happy at least with this(this was one of the rendering modes of voxels in a raytracer):
http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/1184/cube3.png

Now I know this may be a hard thing to implent. But the gameplay is as far as a beta can be. So I suggest, no I demand that you will start working on something that will at least balance the colors out and make everything much better to see. Gameplay first, Optimization second, Graphics third. It's time for graphics, come on! It's a real mess, just look at it, that's low!
