I'd love to be able to choose the resolution. I don't really think there's any great need for the original, small gun size as an option, though. Even the most newbish gun models I've seen are more detailed than that. I'd rather have current, super huge, and somewhere in-between.

Nope, and it has absolutely nothing to do with my forum title.

About that chosing your gun resolution... Not a bad idea. There could be config value for that. Small gun models (original), medium (current) and sooper huge (like model I made).

Is that the laser gun from the show/cartoon "Kids Next Door"? It's highly familiar.

Well one good thing would be, we would finally see if TheOperator really is as good as he states (current models don't require much skill, time or patience to make). Modders are usually those awesome dudes with lots of skill and own deviantart page with lotsa fans and stuff, but AoS simply lacks this because of downgraded graphics and modder is anyone who downloads slab6 and puts crap on mediafire.

Then there's a big bad thing I really dislike, it doesn't fit art style of this game, and I would miss old graphics. So yeah, that makes me hope this will never happen.

@TheGrandmaster: I know exactly what you mean. I could probably still make guns at the resolution Drury used for that piece of awesome, but I couldn't have when I was just starting to mod.

Given the overscaling going on with a lot of gun models now, double the current resolution (in all three dimensions, or eight times the amount of voxels overall) could work, but more than that and you have to be really experienced to get good results.

Whoa, that is.. quite the gun.
I like the current gun resolution myself, it's detailed enough without being too detailed.. if you know what I mean.
