@Kevin: this would be so easy to do. Just find a copy of the old AOS and set up a private server. Give out the server IP in the special AoS format and people can play the shit out of old-school AOS goodness.

ALSO, when you use gyazo, put a .png at the end of the link. I use gyazo literally all the time, and I think it might help avoid ads.

Who said the maps are gonna have airstrike? Not all of them are, and besides bigger maps means people SHOULD (and i stress the word should) be more spread out across the map, which equals to less chance of getting a kill with airstrikes.

I doubt bumping it to 64 will increase team work, as long as people are tempted by an airstrike, they're going for it. The solution is to remove the airstrike or make it so you can only gain it by capturing the intel, to encourage people to work together.

And Ben can also do 1 of 2 things.
1. Make the maps smaller which force more teamwork to actually flank the enemy.
or
2. Make the maps bigger which force more teamwork to get to the other side of the map and grab intel.
Also this occured to me while i was typing, the intel shouldnt be all the way in the back of the spawn. It should spawn more towards the middle of the map. So no one gets spawn camped while a team is trying to grab intel.

I would actually like to play the " Classic " version. I only started playing this game on .52 so i never played with the old ironsight or without autoclimb. Also this would be great for new people that wanted to know how the game was back then. I givez this idea a thumbs up! :D

I'm torn between sides here really. I started playing whenever the SMG first came out, but from videos I've seen there was so much more teamwork back then. But I also think airstrikes add the artillary aspect to the game (I just wish they didnt requie kill streaks and could be used maybe every 10 regular kills) IMO when we do get the bump up to 64 people we mihgt see more teamwork, because,well with 32 other people on your team your bound to be with others.

What players do now is
Run into the battle, get shot, respawn, repeat.
Occasionally they get a kill. The good players stay back and considered "good" because they are camping behind a wall getting kills.

I also agree with Kevin, back then the game was much more teamwork based, not like what you see now, players charging in trying to get a killstreak for some airstrikes, with their horrible lone wolf mentality.

Hell, I've never played the "Classic" version, nor have I played on a default map, ever. But I would love to try it. I'd at least like to see less of shitty maps like pinpoint and hallway. Damn, what's gotten into server owner's heads? You never see default maps (Except I think sham's might host default maps once in a while, but that's nowhere near enough).

yeah, kevin is right, I like Minecraft classic more than some of the beta, just because it was really fun to play. I don't see any problem with bringing back the old AoS, unless it is too difficult or something

I like cheetos and AoS is a very good game.

How about this: Ben makes it to where a host decides which weapons can be used in their server. Then, we could still have classic, without the classic. Also, DE would've agreed with this thread if an RoT member didn't make it.

For minecraft it was wlel owrth investing ain a classic server, to cater for those millions of people, doing it for only or even less then a hundred or so ppl, just isnt worth the time, that could be better spent on the majority of the player base, majoirty always takes precedence of minortiy in gaming.

Not everyone who plays uses the forums. As far as you know, it's a vocal minority who wants this stuff.
