What if this game became pay to play?

Would you still play? If so, what would be the max price you'd go?

Ben said before he has no plans on charging for the game. However, if in the future he decided to do so, I would pay. If the game really catches on and he spends even more time on it, he's going to need a form of sustainable income.

I might still play, it depends what the game ends up being like at the time, and if it is not too expensive. I do not think it should become that, and hopefully it wont. I would be glad to donate though, and I probably will, sometime soon

If it went the minecraft route where an early purchase of about $10 ensured we'd get all future updates for free, I'd hit that up.

What do you not understand? Many games are much better than this and are free.

The simplicity of this game is what makes me play, I don't think paying for a simple game would be a good idea.

at its current state I would pay 5 bucks tops for this game.

I would spend $10 on it, but i wouldn't if there was no major improvements from the free version.

My thoughts on paying for games goes like this:
If you are paying for a game, you should be paying for game CONTENT (maps, levels, items, etc) not a gameplay gimmick.

I think minecraft is a game worthy of paying for, because of its torrential amount of content. Right now AoS is too simple to ask for payment, and I don't think it should (or ever will) have enough content to warrant payment. I like the simplicity of the game mechanics as is, and would be more than happy to play AoS without further updates aside from bugfixes. Basicly, I think the game is perfect right now - content wise - and too much added content wouldn't do the game justice.
