None is tolerable.

I agree that none of it should be tolerable, but think about the enforcement. Would that require any post like that to be deleted? There goes %70 of the posts on the entire boards. As I said, it's the internet, you're going to have it wherever you go, if not, it becomes an environment that is too controlled and usually results in a more negative experience for the user.

Maybe "Refrain from trolling/swearing/racism/etc" is a better way to word it.

It is when people ONLY troll witch is not tolerable.

The one off is okay but the resent banned people are good examples of people who just troll.

@TheGrandmaster, I was actually looking at that earlier. Obviously Ben is the one who oversees everything so some of that is out of my control. These guidelines are obviously just basic forum etiquette and just serves as a reminder towards that. I will however look it over some more to see what I might be able to incorporate.

Nice to see you in the team.
It's sad to say but basic forum etiquette has been somewhat lacking for a long time - most rules that are considered universal seemed not to apply here!

It may be worth discussing it through - I am always on IRC, and it's the guys there who gave the ideas and helped with the revisions of the document. A discussion with the admin team/Ben would be useful when it comes to something like this.
It would just require the kick-start announcement of firm change and give some people the ability to put the solutions into action.

When I am not available, I am not on IRC. When I am away but not busy I generally have IRC on my phone to monitor the channel.

I have not read the rules yet (and I don't think that I really have to, since I am a very respectful and nice and tolerant person) so if it's not done yet you should think about adding something against flaming/harassing other users...
Just look at Kaede-chan, who never misses any occasion to try and "bring me down" by calling me a troll or a script kiddie.

@Devas, I will add harassment/flaming/flame baiting. If something like that happens, remember the rule, don't feed the trolls. Not saying you necessarily do, but a lot of people seem to forget it.

I think it comes down to intention. I can make stupid comments. But my intention aren't malicious they aren't meant to provoke or upset. Most of my dumb/pointless/goofy comments are playful with the intentions of earning a coveted "lol" "lmao" ":P" in the person response.

I understand that very much so. Lacking intellect doesn't exactly portray yourself as a dumbass (but is a great cause). It's more so based upon how you choose to act.

Alot of it is down to intention, I agree. However it is difficult to find out what that might be in some posts - whether they are attempting to contribute but end up coming out with something not all that useful or whether they are just sneakily trying to derail the thread.

It's just whether those dim-witted people ruin the enjoyment of everyone else.
