Well, everyone that has ServerBot should just enable it. Make everybody who actually cares about the community happy. Deuces need not apply, since they're too dumb/lazy to even know how to change their name.

Non-Deuce griefing is on the rise a bit, yes. Maybe we should stop responding to deuces who ask how to change their name in-game... if they legitimately care about the game, they'll look up the wiki, or these forums, both of which can answer their question.

On the other hand, it does seem kind of rude to not answer these questions, because most of the times the asker really just wants to play a game and have fun, and name himself so his friends can find him in-game.

I guess the question is how badly we're willing to inconvenience the innocent to crack down on the trolls.

What's wrong with deuces? For one thing, it's easier seeing someone's ID if he's a Deuce. It's also kind of fun to be anonymous every once in a while and to hang out with the other deuces.

the deuce-ID is the same as the player ID, e.g. Deuce22 is player no. 22 that's what he means.

i agree. deucegriefers are a serious problem.

People can name themselves Deuce# and have a different ID

that defeats the point. then their name, their actual name, wouldn't be deuce, and with this mechanism people would know he's not an actual deuce.

What if griefers use the same name(s) as legit players? Then the folks don't know who to votekick.

That's where registration comes in. Or at least, as I have suggested before, an optional registration, that opens up servers that only allow registered users to enter.

I've done it multiple times. Because more then 75% of the deuces were just greifing.

I saw some deuces by the water recently. I steered clear of them.
