Everytime I try to get on any server it goes to a black screen and then gives me an error say Server Timout: version mismatch or map transfer fail.

Same problem here. I made sure I use .35, I tried reinstalling it 6 times and I even downloaded it again a couple of times. I tried to repair the game files and I tried to remove the game and reinstall after - Doesn't work =(

Seriously? Cheat Engine is the problem? I don't even use it on this game. I think it should rather detect if the cheat engine is running, rather than if it's installed.

I have the EXACT same problem on any server i join, i've been looking around the internet for a solution and it's only Vista(Any Variation) And Windows 7 (Any Var.) that won't run the game.

Personally, i think it's the update, maybe a bug in the codinng, who knows. Best thing we can do at the moment is wait for the Dev. to try and sort it out

Eh, i was told by someone to download it for Metal Assault, didn't end up working very well. Also even if you uninstall it you still need to manually edit the registry to delete everything that was there for it. Although this doesn't really seem to help as i was just in a game with 2 people speedhacking an entire mountain to death. :\

I personally think it's a good idea. I just used CE for MC, not for AoS. It keeps little h4x0r kids away.

I'm not going to post the tutorial on what you need to do again as it got deleted so there was obviously a reason, but i'm going to assume you have cheat engine installed.

It is a good idea, just wish it was possible for an admin to ip ban someone though, as there are still hackers in the game.

Well i can't help you as the mod will end up deleting my post, the best thing for you to do is go the unofficial ace of spade forums and check there.

@noire I do have cheat engine, i just didn't download it myself. A friend of mine downloaded it for Runescape -.- So, if i uninstalled Cheat Engine, it may work?

No, you have to delete more than cheat engine is all i'm going to say. Pretty sure everyone who has this problem is guilty of cheating on one game or another. It also may be caused by visualization software.

By "More than cheat engine". You mean, to delete and other kind of software generally used for cheating? And i've only cheated on literally 2 games, Combat Arms and Runescape.

I can't be helpful at all with any of this, roflzoids. The mod deleted my helpful guide to fix it, and i can see their reason now. So i'm not going to post it again.

may be it sound a bit nervous, but it the most stupid way to "protect" the game from cheaters. The people wyho realy want to cheat will do so, and other, thac couldn't play just for reason, they have some program installed will be annoyed. Untill there will be no on-server values the game is ton portected.

I agree it is stupid to protect the game. There are still cheaters in the game so i think it would be better to implement a voteban system that blocks their ip. It would result in the people who hack and grief having to wait it out, changing their ip, or download a proxy, and it wouldn't be worth griefing a game that will have you changing your ip every time you disconnect.

Guess what gents... the mystery has been solved. I sort of suspected this was the case. If you ever previously installed Cheat Engine then Ben Askoy left a little gift. Open regedit, go to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, find and remove the folder called .CT

Your game will now work. I admit it. I did some speedhack digging during the night of .32 when everybody had no name and went insane. I have learned my lesson & hopefully you have too. :-P Thanks to Facepunch's hunter_killah for discovering this fix.

THAT WORKED! Wow! Thank you. I don't even remember installing Cheat Engine, must of been along time ago. Basically just use the windows search bar on the Start menu, and search "regedit" then go to HKEY_CLASS_ROOT then delete .CT

Hi. Actually, if I am to believe what I read, there are OTHER legitimate programs that use a LOWERCASE ".ct" in the registry OTHER than Cheat Engine. So before you start slinging around derogatory terms think about that. (Personally I think it's all kind of hilarious. And at risk of getting banned there IS, in fact, a "trainer" app by some guy known as "ape" which is the real culprit. Not gonna post a link to it though. It has super-annoying nade spamming features, god mode and stuff like that. Just posting this for info purposes. It seems like Ben has this matter well in hand more or less.)

I had some other programs with ct but most of it was .CTT, etc.
