GET TO THE CHOPPAH! Easy to spot and slow moving, I'm actually worried they'll be too vulnerable. I would suggest this: -Chopper takes something like 30 shots to kill, but the pilot is perfectly protected until then (30 shots is like 3/4 of the total ammo any individual can carry) -Can carry four or more passengers, who are exposed but can return fire from the air -Passengers who want out early can jump out at any time and parachute to the ground, ala BF1942. -If two helicopters crash, both explode instantly! |

30 shots is a bit much, especially if its got passengers riding who can shoot all opposition. I would suggest maybe 15, still takes awhile if your by yourself but isn't ridiculous. |

A lot of things have to happen before we get helicopters. 1. Accounts and registration: Obvious. This will weed out a lot of griefers that would die to ruin this content for legit players. 2. A crapton of work with the physics. Like, I don't even know. 3. A ranking system. Certain amount of points lets you become a chopper pilot. This would be to prevent idiots from flying them and purposely crashing into eachother. 4. ???? 20. ?????¿¿¿¿¿ |

How about a purchase system like C&C Renegade? Just go to a vehicle factory and buy a helicopter with points you earn from capturing intel and killing. BTW 30 shots is not too much. The helicopter would be as easy to hit as the broad side of a barn. I also don't like the passenger idea much, unless there's a separate chopper dedicated to transportation. |

Vehicle factory? |

Okay a helicopter pad? Same concept. |

A helicopter pad is where you land your helicopter. A vehicle factory is for making vehicles, y'know designed to transport people |

A helicopter pad in AoS could also be were helicopters spawn after you buy one. A vehicle by definition can also be an aircraft, or a battleship for that matter. |

A transport helicopter would be a huge hassle to implement in a balanced manner. Make it just a little too tough, a little too weak, a little too predictable, or a little too hard to anticipate, and it's either overpowered or underpowered, and ruins the fun. It'd probably be best to err on the side of caution and make the first implementation more likely to be underpowered than overpowered. Then if things go wrong, rather than helicopters becoming spawnkillfest, they get neglected and players and Ben have a chance to come up with ideas to improve them. Basically, implementing them so they fail to add to the fun is better than implementing them so they actively detract from the fun. Helicopter gunships are just a bad idea. No thanks. |

Helicopters are in everything these days. Try something different. Like blimps. |

Yeah, keeping this game as unique as possible would probably be a good idea. I see nothing wrong with purely infantry combat, myself. Also, as to other heavy weaponry, keep in mind that a full, balanced 32 server has 16 people per team... about the size of a small infantry company. A single company doesn't have much in the way of armament... artillery is usually on a brigade level, as is cavalry (EG many vehicles). All a company of that size would have, realistically, for ANY time period, is a machine gun or two, and maybe, just maybe, a small mortar. |

Helicopters would fit really nicely into this game, because if you want jeeps or tanks or air fields, the block terrain is hard to work with. But helicopters only need a small area to touch down on and take off. As for gunships... I dunno, I feel like the chopper should be mostly for getting infantry to where the enemy doesn't want them (Kaede, what's wrong with the game physics??) |

What if the helicopter could drop ammo supplies? That would be cool. |

I don't remember BF1942, bad company and bf2 had parachutes and they had helicopters. I already suggested this numerous times before as well, it's getting tired of seeing the same suggestion over and over.... and over. |

1942 had chutes, if you got blown high enough into the sky by a tank shell, they could save your life. The core game only got a chopper with the secret weapons expansion, but they were everywhere in the Desert Combat mod. |

i'd hate helicopters. |

I played secret weapons and I don't remember a chopper. I remember jet-packs, jet planes, and the calliope tank, and some German tank with a HUGE cannon. |
