I hope you're planning on selling this. |

One can hope... |

I hope he doesn't sell it; I hope this doesn't go the way of Minecraft. What would be best would be too get a ton of donations, add a bunch of new features, and keep it free. |

1. Free game = tenfold more players |

I think the problem people have with minecraft is not that you had to start paying for it, but that as soon as it got even slightly popular Notch couldn't be bothered to develop it anymore. I'd like to see a situation where the community can continue to develop the game if/when bcoolface stops. |

I don't care if he sells it as long as it's not like over 20 dollars or something. That is, unless it one day gets ALOT more added too it. Right now it's just a very fun little game that i'd say would be worth around 5-15 dollars. |

Well, I hoped it would be like Minecraft in terms of popularity. It's a freakin' awesome game that deserves to be recognized |

Dwarf Fortress is free and yet Toady quit his day job to work on it. DONATIONS DONATIONS DONATIONS. |

I can see this game even surpassing MC in poularity. MC, while fun for a while, for many gets dull after a while. Many people need some sort of competiton for the game to be worth while for more than, say, a month, and this game provides just that. The freedom to have a true sandbox FPS. |

I would pay $50 for this game, if it were completely finished. |

you dont even know what the game itself is yet, its running off bare minimum stuff here, he might end up making it totally different in the long run |

It's clear that he's created a winning formula. I doubt he's intending on messing with that too much. |
#257 Harrishun Member Posted 14 years ago |

He said that the game will remain free. |

There should be a kickstarter fund set up so that the Dev's can either hire more help or really knuckle down to work on it. I'd happily donate. |

Considering one of the FIRST things he added was a validation server without which the game can't function at all, just like minecraft's multiplayer, I figure he intends to sell it. |

I'd gladly pay a small fee to buy the game. Nothing extreme, maybe something like the cost Minecraft was during its first few releases. |

By my experience, people do not click ads. Even when they know that 1 simple click will help support that which they love, without any cost from them, except for 2 seconds of their time. By the away, for the people who actually click ads on sites to support them, after you click an ad, let the site fully load. Otherwise the pixel that registers the click on the end site won't show up and the ad company won't count it, and the owner gets nothing. Just a little insight on how those ads work, for google ads and others. |
