I build a really cool map with lots of stuff to grief. And then, when the griefer is about to grief the last block in his grief creation... I either kick them or shut down the server. Makes me chuckle every time.

It's hard work, griefing. I expect that does sort of make them think: "Wow, I wasted all that time being a dick for absolutely nothing!" but then, like a goldfish's memory span of 30 seconds, they forget about it and move on to another server to grief.

@GrieferCreeper: The key here is subtlety. You're obviously just looking for attention.

    removed irrelevant posts

this is a good discussion, let's keep it on topic!

i usually teamkill first then possibly votekick, kick, and/or ban depending on how devoted they are to ruining the fun for others

I love encasing people when I can. I've found that a majority of griefers are newbs who aren't familiar with how the HoM/HiB/Encasment glitch works, and it's hilariously awesome to watch them sit there, stuck, sometimes for several minutes, before finally lagging or logging out. They moan about their fate the entire time as well, which my inner troll (admit it, we all have at least a bit of troll in us, even if we're quite good at keeping it down) finds immensely satisfying.

It's also fun when the griefer decides to encase the heads of those annoying friendly snipers/autistic builders showing how that glitch is totally not exploitable at all.

I do agree with 1337101 that it's funny when the noobs don't even know how to get out of the block glitch, yet I also agree with Thunderstorm that it gets overused a bit too much to be considered a good thing.
