Also, how does the SMG differ from the semi-auto rifle, rate of fire aside? More recoil? More inaccurate? Less hit damage per bullet? Larger clip size?

(I can't watch the video - on my break at work. Internet connections sucks and would probably take an hour to pre-load the entire video)

I have a 37 minute video of the game, but I had Camtasia (I don't use FRAPS) set to record full-screen, completely forgetting the fact that the resolution is different with Ace of Spades. I could upload it somewhere (it's 1.4GB) but there's a giant black border around the entire video.

Ah, I'm relieved to see that the new weapon turned out not to be a shotgun. Looks like I'm going to have some serious fun with that SMG (it also seemss like it's a fucking beast at close range, effectively removing the role of any pistol or shotgun).

Do you know how much damage the smg does to the head?

It's hard to tell from the video, but it shoots pretty damn fast so a headshot is not necessarily needed for a quick take down.

I'm guessing the votekick will be something along the lines of what Pyspades has implemented, where it's more obvious who is being voted for, by whom, and how many votes remain.

I have a question... I earlier made my own MP5 skin on a whim, and carefully scaled it to the standard rifle (assuming the standard rifle is a G43, the real-world rifle it most closely resembles in appearance), and got a gun only about 20 voxels long. Why'd you model this one after an MP5 if it's so big?

I fixed the issue with me recording it incorrectly (kind of) but there's no sound. I never do videos and it's been a long time since I've screen captured anything. Wasn't really thinking straight.

Just my opinion but, judging by the videos you posted, it seems like the SMG has too much recoil. We'll see how it fares in large-scale combat once 0.53 is released.

@Galaxy, I think it helps balance it out. It's a sort of trade-off for the sheer number of bullets. I personally think it's fine how it is, otherwise you'll have everyone using the SMG, especially for griefing.

After thinking about it, I agree with you. Once we get into servers with 30+ players, the usefulness of balancing out the SMG's accuracy/recoil will most likely prevail. Running and gunning with it will most likely get you killed by your average rifleman. It would best be used for providing cover fire while your team mates advance instead of an "end all" weapon. I'm excited.
