With the smg almost here I was expecting more people to be making MG skins.

according to the news:
I tried to keep things under wraps but it looks like the cat’s out! Beta 0.53 is almost ready and we had a fun playtest last night. The next update will feature a submachine gun, better rendering/framerate, and a new votekick system.

I also had the pleasure of meeting with Ken Silverman this week and collaborating with him on some engine tweaks… he actually helped playtest last night – but by playtest I mean griefing the shit out of the server :)

I have to finalize the release but here’s the changelog so far..
Ace of Spades Beta 0.53
-new weapon – sub-machine gun
-new votekick system
-frame limiter bumped to 60fps
-much higher raycasting precision (no more radar rings)
-ironsight recoil implemented
-server-side physics and hit verification
-greater memory allocation for larger maps
-reduced CPU usage with the Sleep command

I can’t confirm anything but expect a release soon.

WWII was partly the fault of the allies who had set unreasonable rules after world war 1 for the Germans to follow. It included paying for the war and admitting to being wrong in starting war. With the economy in ruins after the war the payments could barely be kept up. Then a political genius arose to lead them, a man by the name of Adolf Hitler. He was to do both good and evil in his time. All in the name of nationalism and the German people. He would make Germany great again, and would try to make the world a glorious German world. This view would lead them to war, a bloody long war. The allies would do horrible things to the people of Germany as they fought for their own protection from a growing power. The axis would do equally horrible things, for war is not a simple army on army conflict, many people will die, most of them not even soldiers. This would continue until again Germany fell and was destroyed by the allies.

The point is, telling Hitler your sorry might be seen as incorrect, but we crush the dreams of a man who wanted to make his nation great, a dream most people have about their country. Sure he killed the jews, but he tried to give them to other countries, and we all refused to take them. So maybe we should say sorry, to the German people who we killed in massive numbers entering their country. Or to the japanesse who we nuked. Why is it that German generals are tried for war crimes, but the americans that dropped the bomb are seen as heros? History is written by the victorious, so what did we write? Or more importantly, what didn't we?
