i was in that server with new update, got kicked i think it doesnt work anymore...

Server is down right now. Once a 6th person enters it it get buggy and laggy. And yes it is perfectly safe

This may seem like a WW1 game, but It's actually inspired by Vietnam.

WWI- trench building
WWII- Buidling and fighting in more urban areas.
Vietnam- Rivers valleys and hills.

@Gregery it makes sense. The default generated map is all hills, rivers, and valleys. What was Vietnam?? Hills, rivers, and valleys

And I never did say that ww1 or 2 didn't have to do with this game. But I think that Vietnam inspired it more.

I'm fairly sure Ace of Spades isn't meant to be a specific conflict. The default rifle looks like a G43 (WWII), the landscape speaks "European River Valley" to me more than anything, and the SMG confirmed for 0.53 looks like an MP5 (which was designed and produced prior to the end of the Vietnam war, but not used as a primary weapon during the conflict). The title itself, Ace of Spades, is a Vietnam reference. The conflict style is more that of WWI and WWII.

At this stage of development I think it's safe to say that AoS has its own universe, following rules Ben sets without an eye to following any one specific conflict, but rather developed in a manner that he believes will make the game more fun for the players.

@1337101 The MP5 was made in 1966, although not used in vietnam (cause it had no real use) it was already produced.
