I just have to say:
QUIT HATING ON THE SMG, A SMG NEVER GOT UP ON IT'S OWN AND GRIEFED; IT WAS CONTROLLED BY AN ASSHOLE.

As the NRA would say: Guns don't kill people, people kill people. The SMG isn't to blame for griefing, griefers are to blame. Also, taking away block damage is a retarder idea because that is what makes up for it's lack of killing power.

So:
BEN DID A GOOD JOB AND SHOULDN'T CHANGE THE SMG, HE SHOULD BE FOCUSED ON ADDING FEATURES NOT TURNING THIS GAME INTO WHAT THE NOOBS TURNED COD INTO. STOP COMPLAINING.

I agree. I think the SMG is wonderful.

Of course, I've tried using it only to fail at it. Guess what? If it's related to the people I will just avoid the SMG.

SMG is really powerful weapon. People dont understand how to use it. They use it to just run and go nuts. SMG tactics are somewhat similar to the rifle.

1. Always have cover.

2. Burst fire in 3-6 shot bursts

3. Crouch for good accuracy.

4. Move further on the map slowly.

@Drewgon: I still think it should have a little less power against blocks if for no other reason than realism. The SMG's structure-shredding capabilities are a bit ludicrous right now.

It might be, but that was the point. If snipers on two hill tops are sniping at eachother, and a machine gunner walks up and spams the hell out of the enemy bunker the otherside will have a chance to take the line. Also, realism doesn't really have to be what forms the gameplay. Real wars don't have intel on spider towers or people constructing bunkers out of large cubes. So right now the machine gunners aren't really meant to be super killing machines, but some well needed support for some snipers. It is all tactics.
