  • Da epic votekick SPAM
  •

So, right now many people just keep spamming spamming and spamming the votekicks, which may start bother at some point. Actually it can get very annoying.

To prevent and fix this, I suggest two little things:
-Show who is voting for kicking X
-Before starting a new votekick, players must wait one minute before they're able to do so.

    Very simple.

I disagree with the first one. That's what I hated about pyspades' votekicking system, because then if the votekick failed, then the person could just try to get the guy who started it kicked.

Keep votes anonymous, but limit players to starting a votekick once per game/match. That way people think twice about starting a vote to kick random people.

I agree with Spengebab. Once per match.

    Thats all.

Edit: Well what if the votekick fails and the person is really doing something wrong and other people don't believe it, so they don't vote?

@CaptianGT: Then they won't vote for the kick once it's started anyways, so there's no point.

@Spengbab: That seems a little to strict a limit. I'd rather have a votekick cooldown period, if you either (A): start a votekick which fails, or (B): are the target of a votekick that fails. If you start a votekick which succeeds, there won't be a cooldown and you can move on to the next troll.

PySpades worked this way (and probably still will once it's released for 0.54) and I rather liked that system. It meant that someone who was actually votekicking people that needed it could continue doing so until he had run out of people that needed kicking (sometimes you NEVER run out of people to kick, sadly), but a troll who started a votekick for no reason would usually have his votekick fail... in which case he had to wait to start another one. Spamming votekicks won't be possible.

I'd also like the game to show the names of people who start votekicks. I know, people would try revenge-kicks, but if you give a cooldown period for targets of failed kicks like I mentioned above, they can't do that right away. The initial votekick-starter will have plenty of time to explain himsef and avoid getting kicked.

Oh, and hosts should be unkickable (fabricated vocabulary!). 'Nuff said there.

Once per match? lol. Then it becomes worthless after the first 20 minutes of playing.

Once every 3 minutes sounds reasonable to me.

I remember in soldat, you had to wait a few minutes before creating a vote, I think it was like 2-3. I also remember it brought up a thing that stayed, even when people would chat, it also said the reason, and whomever started it.

I think that is a good way to go with it, also, soldat had voting for maps, maybe this game could do that with map resetting(if it doesn't already, I haven't really noticed), I don't know if voting for a new map would be a problem, but at least resetting it would be good.

i just read the comments, so i guess showing who started it might be a bad idea

I'd rather have my name be shown when I want to kick a troll than have a troll's name not be shown when he spams the chat with votekicks. 'Nuff said.
