Because you have to use ctrl to crouch.

That has to be the most awkward button to use to crouch in ANY VIDEOGAME.

One thing that I have wanted ever since I first started playing this game (which was around 0.33) was a toggle-able crouch.

It's pretty self explanatory.

I agree with changing the controls. I personally don't have any problems with the control key, and I really don't see one small control issue as a reason to "FUCKING HATE THIS GAME".

I see it as a reason to fucking hate this game, because reaching over to ctrl with your pinky finger feels weird, especially when you've used shift to crouch in every fps game you've ever played, which feels alot better. Its more reachable than fucking CTRL.

The problem is either in your keyboard, your hand, or your way of using a keyboard, all of which can be fixed.

If it's really that much of an issue, don't play, or don't complain, nobody wants to be bothered hearing it.

When you get older your hands will grow and it will be easier.

Use the side of your hand to mash control.

In all the PC shooters I play, ctrl is default crouch key. Shift controls walking speed or something.
I've never had a problem with it.
To be fair though all of those games have customizable controls.

I say that having your pinky is plenty of reason to hate this game! They should chnage crouch to shift.

I agree with Sue_Sakamoto, and to add in to that don't be a hater. If you don't like the game just don't play it

We need toggle crouch.

There's no point in the shift walking, because when you're crouching, you make no noise. In my opinion the shift key and crouch key roles should be switched around.

I like this idea a lot, mainly because it plays havok with my Minecraft playing...

I play so many fps and third person shooters, and those commands come by default, and is the way i like it. I cant imagine how weird it would be having crouching be shift. It would be soooo awkward and disgrace every single ftp in the world! This would be a revolting revolution

I don't have much of a problem there. I've been playing FPS games so much that I got used to keeping the Ctrl button pressed. :/

Maybe we should get Ben to implement a Customize Controls feature in the next few updates.

In every Battlefield game and other fps games ctrl is always crouch, and shift is sprinting/some other stuff.Also, toggleable crouch is an awesome idea.

There is a point to walking. It's still silent and it's faster than crouch. Plus, you can't walk up terrain while crouching.

We need a toggle trigger for our weapons and grenades. It's a pain in the ass to click for each rifle shot, and don't even get me started on having to hold down the mouse button to fire the SMG.

My opinion is that you should have the option to switch keys for things. That wouldn't hurt.

If you have trouble holding down a mouse button, small things, most likely insects or spiders, have crawled under your buttons and died. This is most easily recognizable by a clicking noise when you press the button down, as every noise signifies the death of one small creature that hates your guts. Okay, now dispose of your mouse, seal all entrances into your house. You will find that there is a hidden trapdoor entrance in the cabinet under your kitchen sink. Go down into the passage, there should be a nearby briefcase. This case contains a drug that is to be taken intravenously, on the spot. Once you inject the substance, you will go into a trance that will take you deliriously to a secluded forest clearing. Under the roots of the third birch tree from the left, there will be a message carved into a wooden board. Do not read this message. Take the board, close your eyes, turn around, and toss the board as far in front of you as you can manage. Now there should be noises. I laughed though.

But, see, this clerk will be wearing a bluetooth like they do, and he'll be behind a counter, that's how you'll know he's a worker. Plus he'll be looking at you nervously, like he's afraid of whatever business you have with him. But really he's just going to make you the bugproof mouse with the recipe on the board.

He is a crack addict, though.

Alternatively, you can use the damn left-end/inverse knuckle of your hands. It always works for me.
