Well, I was wondering if there was a way to convert files like .max or.3ds to .kv6... If anyone can help then please do... |

Is there any way for Slab6 to handle a map and then convert the file back to .vxl format? The controls in Slab6 are a lot friendlier, especially for the right-handed people among us. |

You can make 256x256x256 size cube in slab. So you would need 4 of them (256x256x64 max). Save into KVX and then import into Voxed by pressing "U". But I'm currently building the map by using the height map. Then I'll put some props that i made in slab6. |

@Simox: Yeah, I've had some trouble with .kvx files getting imported incorrectly. Do I have to center the cursor extra-carefully to get the huge sections to go in correctly? I also have some visual bugs when I get over 128 x 128 x 32 or so (half of the limit), no idea what the cause of that is. |

Biggest one i imported into voxed was 124x22x34. Got some visual bugs as well sometimes, but i imported it into voxed without problems. What exactly happens when you import them into voxed? Missing parts, flipped? Also you can try to center the pivot point. |

Misplacement, mostly... not having the sections right where I wanted them to be. |

Some time, maybe next week, I'm going to make a commandline tool for populating a vxl map with kv6 files, where you'll draw an image showing the likelihood of a given area getting a model, or alternatively you can put down a special-colored block in the map and it'll use that to place things. Mostly intended for putting down stuff like trees, but you could also use it to import very large models that don't work properly in voxed. |

You can always move them to where you want to though. Numpad keys: 1,2,3,5; 4 - up and enter - down. |
