Spawncamping is annoying. I wouldn't say it's full-blown cheating... more of a minor exploit. I'd say that sapping a team rather than raiding for intel is more harmful to your own team, but if all you want to do is shoot people, then whatever. It's a game with guns; as long as I can kill you too it's fair enough. |

Well sapping puts you'r team at an advatage for intel getting. |

Sapping? You mean 'switching teams to be a 'spy''? That's griefing. |

what the hell is sapping? |

Sapping in AoS usually refers to destroying enemy fortifications for no reason other than "you really want to," without teamswitching. It can be a bit annoying, but it's not a truly kick-worthy offense like teamgriefing or teamswitching to grief (trying to make the excuse "no lul imma xXspiXx" is no excuse at all. Get back to your team or get out). Technically speaking, sapping is destroying ANY enemy fortification for any reason, which is a legitimate part of the gameplay. I know I've toppled my share of annoying sniping posts and filled in some tunnels and bunkers. Sapping has also been used to imply killing enemies for no real reason other than you just want to shoot people, although this use of the term is less common (probably because it's technically incorrect). This can also be annoying, but it DOES help the team a bit (not as much as trying to get the intel) since it puts a damper on raids and puts the enemy on the defensive instead. |

I see no problem with either. |

1. Giant enemy fort protects intel Problem? |

I see a problem with switch teams to greif, this isn't team fortress. |

Well teamswitching to grief is different. 1. Want to be dickbag It's not in the spirit of the game. Of course it's fine if you're helping your team to victory by taking down obstacles, but hindering your own team is moronic. |

Switching teams to grief their structures, or give your team any sort of advantage is exploitation of a game feature. |

@[HK]DeathEnhanced: StackOverflow and Dan are the admins, and izzy and TheGrandMaster are the moderators. As far as I know Kaede is just another contributor (albeit one of the better ones). |

There's an old thread about asking for title changes... search it and ask there. Don't worry about necroing the thread... it's not all that old, and from what I've seen the admins and mods don't mind if you revive a thread when you have an honest reason for doing so (such as when it's the title-change request thread, and you're requesting a title change). |

sapping is pretty cool, it is a better word than griefing |

If you go into enemy territory and destroy enemy structures...it means that the enemy cannot properly defend their structures, it is an exploitation of an enemy weakness that the enemy cannot properly take care of. If the enemy cannot keep that structure up, it will be gone. It is a form of sabotage and in war sabotage is legit. It is legit, nuff said. |

If destroying enemy blocks was against the rules you could just build a box around the intel.... |
#48292 Loveguro Member Posted 14 years ago |

It isn't, technically destroying enemy fortifications will help your team achieve their goal, but then again. I've see far worse tho, borderline griefing: building fortifications to help the enemy. As you would all know most bunkers don't have a rear wall on them as most likely won't be shot from behind. We had a player who built structures with out a front on them then switched teams and participated in a massive rush. We suddenly had these massive towers which we thought were harmless filled with enemies. Not good... |

I'm a little disappoint that this is actually a discussion. Of course it's not griefing. |
