Do any populated servers use the default map? I feel like with custom maps, the game has become less, players building cover and terrain, and more using what the ma gives them and just shooting. I miss the hill and mountains and having to build in the location I want, instead of where the map maker wanted. |

I haven't seen any populated vanilla maps recently, no. It's a shame, I liked the terrain too. |

People like getting into the action ASAP. They don't want to bother building effective tunnels and towers and cover. |

i think it was pretty fun, but i would get really bored of it, and now i do not really play it very often, when i do play. it was pretty cool, though, maybe i will start trying to find some servers with it soon |

There's a reason nobody plays the old gen maps anymore. They got old, just like all these new custom ones are getting. Need new map generation algorithm-thingamabobber. |

OR what about MULTIPLE level algorithms, that players could vote on. Like, an island algorithm, plains, mountain, dessert and so on. |

@Kaede: I've worked with nothings a bit providing models for one of his map generators, and I have to say he can make some pretty epic maps. The one I helped with was the parking garage generator. Basically, it allows players to think "I want to fight in a parking garage," and then key up a generator so they get a new parking garage every single time. It'd be like playing, say, Terminal (to use a term the CoD kiddies are familiar with, since there seem to be so many of them... >.<), only every time you enter the level it's a totally different airport (Is it Atlanta or Heathrow this time?!). I'm hoping that map-gen options are available in future versions of AoS, although I can understand that it's not a huge priority for Ben at the moment. But the oppurtunity for a variety of unique maps would really take full advantage of the voxel terrain. Minecraft has a fresh map every time and unique new terrain generated as you explore, and a lot of fans of the game have said how much they like that. I think that would be really enjoyably in AoS as well. |

That's EX-ACTUALLY WHAT I MEAN! You know how in like, CS:S At the end of the round there's a vote saying what map next? EG. De-dust 7 votes For AOS it could be, What kind of level do you want next Medivial 6 votes And instead of picking 1 map, it would pick a map generator, and generate a map with that theme. So each map would be new, but with the theme you chose. |

I've never played any other FPS games other than good old Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Turok, and SW: Battlefront, pretty much. And most of battlefront I played in 3rd person out of habit for some reason because lolautoaim |

@ modifier Well, not only would the map be new, it would change. Like, if people were playing on hallway, then wanted to change to pinpoint they could vote on it. Tons of FPS's do this. But instead of going to the same map, each one would be different and new, just with one "theme" to the generation. |

That looks like it was translated with Google translate. I mean really. Steamed bun foot? Swim ring layer? I am disappoint, spam bot. On topic: The original map got boring after a while. Also, I remember somebody saying that it was unfair towards the blue team because not only did the river placement mean that Green had a smaller area to defend, the Green area was also less hilly, which made building easier. |
