    This idea just popped into my head:

    When the game starts, you have 10 minutes of peacetime, as in, you can't leave your territory, and you can't hurt anyone, or take the Intel.

    this will give the first 10 minutes of the game some tactical depth by providing the ability for people to build a defense around anything and everything they want inside their territory. Once the time limit of 10 minutes is reached, the wartime mode is engaged, and you cannot place blocks during wartime mode, but you can destroy them. Your team must capture the Intel, which instead of having the effect of displaying enemy positions on the map, will now reset wartime mode back into peacetime, and also awards the capturing team 1 point.

    I thought this through and I think it would be a great optional way to play this awesome game. Think about it, hate the people who just build everything in a huge tower and then rebuild it almost immediately after it's knocked down? Not anymore, since everything that is destroyed during wartime stays destroyed until peace is restored, which then things can now be rebuilt.

    And now for the game-play twist.
    Territory owned by the teams will start with half of the map owned by both teams. whoever loses will actually gain more territory instead of lose it, making it either harder or easier for the winning team to score depending on the situation. Now there is a limit to the territory limit expansion, once it gets near where the spawn points are for the teams, it will stop there, which is still probably quit a bit of land. one team can probably own 3/4 of the map if they lose 3-4 rounds in a row.

    If you have a comment or suggestion i may edit the post to accommodate new things if i think it is better than what I've got already

    I actually like the idea of the peacetime at the beginning. Maybe 5 minutes perhaps? But I wouldn't eliminate all building for the rest of the game session. Just the idea of having some time to prepare and engage with your teammates would be a nice change from the standard "every man for himself". It would actually require people to focus on the team aspect for a little bit and like you said, can add a bit of tactical depth to the game.

    Yeah I've wondered about this too, but the lack of any safety time makes the building of structures a bit more urgent, and since builders are sitting ducks for infiltrators as it is, it would be dissapointing for some to no longer be able to catch builders unawares.

    Even if you did have a peace period- I wouldn't remove building during wartime. Sometimes frantic barricade building can save your life, and taking that away removes a big element of combat gameplay.

    I've found the frantic combat building to be in bad taste, but I'll see if I can figure something out later.

    Yes because it is very hard to build during combat how about 5min?10 min seems a littlevlong

    I really support this day, if enough people work together for that 10 minutes they could have built a flourishing town with a nice defensive foot hold. This will make the game feel like more of an rts, than it was before. It also is just enough time to give us people who feel like building, build something great (but not too great). I do however think it would be better though if you can go anywhere (even enemy territory) but instead if you touch the intel you wont pick it up, also if you get shot by an enemy nothing happens either. Also during this time since its peace times, the you can use the enemy tent (for those 10 minutes only) to heal from lag.

    I like the idea, the only thing is you should be able to build at war time, and insted of guns not hurning, how about you don't spawn with rifle and gernade until wartime..?

    I would be disappointed if this happened. From the start of the game people would know "Oh great, now we KNOW there's a giant fortress around intel". This peacetime would force people to build, therefore eliminating any sort of initiative to be fast or take the back door knowing they wont suspect you. This game would be even less fun with a giant fortress around intel every single game. It would just turn into team fortress 2

    I'm all for speculation, but we won't know how it will turn out unless the game mode is actually created, and I so appreciate the negative criticism a couple of you gave. Actually, no I don't.

    I'm thinking that you won't be able to even select the rifle or grenade during wartime. also, what's wrong with not being able to place blocks during wartime? You can still use the pickaxe and shovel to destroy them, you just have to be careful.

    UP!!
    I suggested a similar idea.

    1.Building phase 5-10 min. Shooting off. (off weapon button 5-10 min)
    2.War phase. Building off. Allowed only personal hole, 2-3 blocks in 8-10 minutes for self defense. (count blocks for buildings tools )
    3. All the hills have their own flag. (all hills have intels)
    4. Points are added for capture the flag. (flag change color after capturing)
    5. Building phase after 30 min. And again.
