Why's that? I lived in Cali for 5 years, it's not so bad, and it was Bakersfield, the armpit of California. San Jose is farther north and a lot nicer. 80 degrees in the summer.

Well it was taken in Winter, from the looks of some of the trees. I like how green the hills are though, it looks amazing to me. That's what I get for living in a desert my entire life.
