Make it flash. This makes it impossible to exploit the game mechanics building fake intels. It also makes the game a lot more fun. |

The whole "fake intel" thing has been observed as a legit strategy. Considering there's been a few complaints, I figure this could be another server-based setting. For those who want the ability to make fake intels, leave it off. For those who don't want to deal with sifting through fakes, turn on the flashing/indicative intel. |

Fake intel markers is a good distraction and is a tactical idea. Idk why it's bad... |

Why should fake intels be removed? This is a war game, misdirection and misinformation should not only be encouraged, but necessary. |

I think the fake intel markers make the game funner. The Intel markers should either stay as they are or have it be an option to change. |

Things like fake intel are what make this game so unique. |

Fake intels are perfectly fine. Personally, I find the people who only focus on intels to be annoying. There needs to be more game modes, a plain-old TDM would be nice. |

Enemy griefing is not griefing its warfare |

If you are either under, over or in a same level with the intel, it'll change the arrow. That's how you can see, which intel is the right one. |

I've never built a single fake intel, but I love when blues build them. Supports teamwork and adds another fun element in game. For both sides, fake builders and offending side. |

This is a truly awful idea, and I strongly oppose it. Making fake intel is one of the original tactical elements of this game, and it is great in its simplicity. This does not need changing. Ben, please don't listen to people making suggestions like this, trying to make your wonderful game into a generic shooter that functions the same as all others. Also, like Monsteri pointed out, it's so easy to reveal which is the real one, so stop being lazy and man up! |

Tip: Make a fake intel OVER the real one. Then make two white arrows, one pointing north and the other south. That way, it is impossible to discover which intel is real. The only way to discover is to put a block over it, wait some seconds and see if it changed in the map. If so, that intel marker is fake. If not, then the intel is under or over it somewhere. |

Every tip that involves digging the intel is bad |
#5452 adrix89 Member Posted 14 years ago |
This only works when all of your other fake intels have both white arrows. Then it really is impossible to check it via map. Wiht your idea one could just build up a one-block-tower and see if any of the intel-symbols changes the arrow. If none of them does, it has to be the one with two arrows. And yes, enemy griefing = sabotage. |

"And yes, Enemy griefing = sabotage." I don't see why some people can't get this through their head. I've been kicked twice already for damaging enemy buildings. It's not griefing (unless you teamswitch to do so), and the sooner everyone realizes it, the better. |

Yeah, some people need to realize that AoS != Minecraft. |

Agreed, needs a little realism. There shouldn't be "fake" intel. |

It's not like it's difficult to tell which intel is fake and which is real by looking on the map >_> Regardless, it makes people think more. I set them every so often. I don't see why they should be banned at all. This is the first time I've seen a complaint about it. |

I've never liked them. They make the map look ugly. |

So do a lot of things. And I've never understood why people continue to build things with neon colors. Not even map markers for finding tunnels, just giant neon quirky things. wth. |

Because they're pretty. I like to draw stuff on the map too. Deal with it. |

1. make a lot of white boxes (each side = 3 boxes + round edges by 1 box on each end) all over the map |

I like you Kaede. You want a more realistic Ace of Spades for a more fun war feeling. I want it too. But after you said:
I don't understand how could said this:
I don't think that neon colors are too realistic. They are as ugly, as fake intel signs. |

The intels should be changed to 7x6 rects instead of 7x7 squares. |

"It's not like it's difficult to tell which intel is fake and which is real by looking on the map >_>" They look exactly the same though? |

Fools. 7x6 rects look nicer. Problem? |
