After some talk in the private RoT xat room, I mentioned the question, "Why isn't the RoT forums open to public?" Reuben replied it was to prevent shitstorms, and I asked, "Isn't that our specialty?"
The talk went on for about 2 hours with 8 people involved in the decision, and we came to the conclusion it wouldn't do any harm letting our forums out to the public AoS Forums.
