Did you change the resolution settings? I changed them and got the same thing, put them back to norm if you changed them

Most likely due to invalid resolution settings.

try setting it to windowed, i'm pretty sure you can have anything as long as it's windowed. my resolution isnt supported, so i use 1024x768 in a window
