As title said - remove pick, and make shovel secondary attack works like current pick (or primary as pick, and secondary as shovel). It isn't really game changing suggestion, but have multiple reasons:
-it make no sense that one material can possibly be removed by either pick or shovel.
-in no real war pick was standard soldier equipment.
-one less weapon to clutter up screen
-one less hotkey used
-faster swapping between digging method.
-if we ever get slot system, digging tools will take only one slot, as they should.
-if we ever get reinforced blocks (concrete, stone), pick could be added as specialist tool to remove it

cons:
-those who can't read manual will have to spend some time in game to realize that their mouse has more than one button.

What about in cases where you only want to remove one or two blocks, and not three?

For some odd reason I just preffer having both the pickaxe and the shovel. I'll probobly give a valid explanation as to why the pickaxe should stay. Probably should have given more thought and support to your claim.

And, this isn't a realistic game. Why do we need realistic elements in it?

pros:
-you can't remove one block.
-you can't semi damage a block for strategy.
-you can't dig one to two blocks when needed.
-you can't dig one or two blocks fast.
-you don't have a super kawaii weapon that makes your kawaii character uguu kawaii desu.
-More people will complain about how they don't have a pick.

cons: There is no downside.

I didn't say he made sense, but in his mind he made sense because he didn't realize that the OP was saying that one button would be used as a pick, and the other as a shovel. Thinking with his mindset, that the pick would be gone and you'd only have a shovel, his pros (cons) make sense. I spent too much thought on this... but only for about 30 seconds :/

I think this is a good idea, and should be implemented. It frees up an item slot making things less cluttered. I always found having 2 seperate tools which do basically the same thing rather pointless.

Also I wish the rifle took the number 1 slot. It would be easier to instantly switch to when a builder finds themselves under fire. I've died a few times trying to switch quickly to the rifle, only to bring out the block and die.

I think I'm just too used to useful weapons being in the number 3 slot, since it's almost always knife, pistol, then mainstay weapon in other games.
