Now let me tell you this, I love the graphics on this game. It actually is one of the better art styles I have seen, but it lacks a sense of life. Something that slowly becomes apparent the more you play. The whole lack of life, other than the other players. If no battles were fought on the warzone, at least SOME life should be present. Trees would really fix this. As well as giving players a tactical advantage if they can scale it and snipe, it would also add to the atmosphere of a war seeing destroyed trees all around you. |

How about a map which is a burnt out destroyed city? |
#775 Trotski Member Posted 13 years ago |
Maybe we could have different environments. Such as; I know I got carried away, but I think more maps would give the game lots of replay value, and provide you with the trees you so desperately want. |

But the point is to create structures. What good is a map like a city going to do? |
#790 Harrishun Member Posted 13 years ago |
It doesn't ALL have to be a city. And once the developer adds more explosives the land is going to start getting torn up faster, meaning that the cities wont stand forever. And besides, don't you ever get bored of looking at rolling hills with some half finished structures everywhere? |
#793 Stickeys Member Posted 13 years ago |
I vote trees. But they should be a bit easier to shoot through than earth. Or something like that... or maybe just a little shrubbery or something. |

Maybe we should just keep it as WW1 styled warfare. Mud,Barbed Wire,Artillery and Trenches. |
#812 Trotski Member Posted 13 years ago |
What makes you think the dev would add more explosives? I vote for tress, but other than that, people make the structures anyway. |
#816 Harrishun Member Posted 13 years ago |
What Trotski said, minus the artillary. SImplicity is the key here; different map terrain, okay. Adding unremovable buildings and such just makes me screem WHY???? As for trees, okay, but they'd be destroyed within about 5 minutes anyway. It couldn't hurt, it just seems a bit fruitless. |

trees would provide a bit of camouflage |
#852 headcrabzombie Member Posted 13 years ago |
To be honest I would love to see some varriation in the map. The rolling hills and branching rivers are great but it be pretty lame if that was all there was as an option. Trees would be very interesting as they would provide cover for and against snipers. |

Use Brown Blocks with Green blocks. You got a tree. |
#2652 Lexsym looka Posted 13 years ago |
stickeys is a good idea |

Trees = Tree Huggers. BAD! Okay I am joking, If you had the "leaves" as blocks with 50% of the pixels taken out. That would like realistic enough? |
#2711 Jackster Member Posted 13 years ago |
50% of the pixels out would likely still look like a solid block |
#2753 The_Lolocaust Member Posted 13 years ago |
I actually agree with the majority of the variety mentioned. The city would be war torn and partially destroyed. Obviously the building would be destroyable and even repairable if desired. I would be an interesting change of pace for the game. Also, trees would be really cool. Once the map tools get released I want to see some of this stuff actually happen. If we get artillery/machine gun emplacements cover with be that much more interesting and important. |
#2755 Drakengard Member Posted 13 years ago |
ERm..... 50% would not look like a solid block..... I don't mean every other pixel should be clear but in blocks of 40 or something. |

You know if anything, maybe Ben (the creator, I think that's his name, lol), can pay attention to how Notch, creator of Minecraft, has been doing these sorts of enviroments. I don't mean copy everything Notch is doing, I'm just saying, if he wants a general idea of how the game COULD look, maybe look at Minecraft. PS: Notch and Ben walked into a bar. . . |
#2786 Dilly89 Member Posted 13 years ago |
...and then notch spent all his monies on vodka and vacations. |
#2815 superkonami Member Posted 13 years ago |
lol |
#2841 Dilly89 Member Posted 13 years ago |
It would take quite some time for notch to spend all his money in a bar. 2 million copies sold of minecraft at prices 10-15e mostly :-D |
#2921 JesseQ Member Posted 13 years ago |
Yes, but it's not impossible. |
#3033 BlackMuffin Member Posted 13 years ago |
:DD ftw is going on in here? Anyways, the trees, cities and other stuff shouldn't be added, since the dev is planning to do a map maker tool anyways soon. Then there'll be billions of thatlike maps around. |
#3037 Monsteri Minion Posted 13 years ago |
it would be nice to have more natural cover |
